Between waves of pain and delirium the next few hours were a little fuzzy. A lot of things happened that I couldn't predict. When I woke up it was to a heart monitor in a dry room. My thoughts raced at the possibilities. Either someone had taken me to a dry room aboard the elevator out of here, there was a dry place within the lagoon, or I was somehow out of the original Gendry Hospital.
"Jacob, relax most of the shrapnel is out, let the machine do its work." I heard Sid of all people say. The grumpy priest stood to the side covered in armor with his staff in hand. Something happened while I was out.
I turned my head to the side to a see a window in my hospital room. So, I'd been wrong on all accounts. The room was tiny only 6 x 6 x 6 meters. Above me hovered Ubix my own medicube. It worked quickly slicing through my skin with its blue lasers before plucking a chunk of steel out of my flesh.
"How's the air?" Sid asked.
