After a grueling day of walking in the afternoon sun, Tom was ready for a shower. Luckily, most of the walk had been silent and he didn't have to listen to complaining or rambling off of endless facts. The sun had gone down and the moon lit the way. He was starting to get nervous. If they could really be tracked by their heat signatures at night, he wanted to get back underground fast.
They stood before what Ellie had said used to be a hospital, but now looked like a crumbling mass of concrete.
"Are you sure this is where it's at?" Tom asked Ellie.
"Should be. Just like the others, we need to look for something deep in the ground," she said.
"My feet are killing me. Can we just go?" Brooke pleaded.
