Chapter 34- The Privileged

"What the hell does it mean? If you had told people there would be more survivors," she shouted.

Clive shook his head. "Do you think I wanted this to happen as well? I did inform people Reya. I did. And they wanted my head for it. So I hid. And I lied okay; I was not recruited by Ruskies. I was hiding from NASA," he said.

Raya shot up from her seat and started pacing. "So....so you are saying that you tried to inform people. But..... why didn't anyone else get the news,"

Clive turned back. "I only informed the national leaders. I thought that they would be sane enough to at least warn their own countrymen," he took a deep breath and continued, "But.... but none of them did,"

"What! So you informed our president about this? Then why? Why..." Reya whispered.

Clive got up and reached her. "I'll show you something else, come with me," he whispered.

She nodded and followed after him. The other three watched them shout and reconcile.

Momma jade sighed, "What are they both shouting about?"

Mark shrugged, "teenagers,"

Meanwhile the two reached the scientists study.

Clive dashed to his table and started searching for something. After minutes he came up with a small folder.

"I never told anyone this before but... this also another proof," he gave it to her.

Rey picked it up and flipped through it. It only had pictures of their president and a beautiful woman. In each of the pictures the present looked either stunned or scared gazing at her.

"Who is she?" she whispered.

"I believe she is one of the other aliens," Clive said.

"There are more?" she whispered. She knew that Artemis was a goddess but this woman looked even more ethereal.

Clive handed over another picture. This time it was a picture of Artemis and the same blond woman she saw with the president.

"She is also a god. But which one," Reya whispered softly.

"Hmm what?

"Nothing.." she peered at the many pictures and bit her lips. "Clive... are you saying that these 'aliens' came down to earth to warn us,"

He nodded. "I firmly believe so," he then pointed to one of the pictures. It was of president in his car along with the blond woman. "This was taken just few days before the descent," he whispered.

Reya took a deep breath and dropped them all. "If.... if they knew why didn't they do anything,"

Clive walked closer and whispered, "Selfish need to live. These bastards, if questioned, they will say that they didn't want a national panic. But all these people were just taking care of their own selfish needs,"

He threw some map and locations at the table. The map had small red dots on it, in a small structure that looked like a building. "These are specially made bunkers that could house as many as ten thousand people. And you know something the tickets for this was sold worldwide," He scoffed.

"Tickets? Why were we not aware of this?" Reya whispered.

"Only the rich and privileged got this info, no one else," He said and sighed. "And there were also another major reason why they didn't inform worldwide. It's because they wanted to do population control. It was an efficient way,"

"Slow down. Population control? Why? Weren't we doing okay?" she held her aching head.

He dragged her over to a chair and opened a small projection. "We had too many people and too little resources.' He pointed to the spot on the display. "We were killing our earth bit by bit,"

"So on December last year they decided to not inform anyone about this upcoming tragedy," he said.

Reya did not know how to take in so much info. She held her aching forehead and slowly rocked herself.

"This... are you okay?" he whispered.

"Give me a minute I feel like having a panic attack," she whispered.

He softly patted her shoulders and sat next to her.

"You know, to comfort your aching heart, all those 'privileged' people died now," he said slowly.

Reya lifted her head and gazed up at him.

He moved closer and whispered, "the plague. It took them all out," he said then showed a real map of this bunkers. It was dated just a few days before and there were no red points on it anymore.

"All of them?"

"All of them, without any survivors. And see this," he gave her a small photo. It was next to the familiar bunker a blond-haired man stood there with a scowl.

"I believe he caused this. I named him subject 3." He said.

Big shout out to Mrshark for all the love and support.
