"I can't do it." Hero stated, looking right into Xavier's eyes. What he had just proposed did not sit well with him. His friendship and feelings for Avalyn were at stake and he was not about to throw all of that away for anything.

"It's not a selfish scheme, Hero. This is for the better good." Hero shook his head. It was too risky. It was too risky and the consequences were fatal. For him and for Ava. 

"Think of it as doing her a favour as well Hero. You will be doing us all a favour," that almost sounded convincing on his part. However, Hero was still uncertain. If he agrees to this, he will, at sometime later, would surely regret ever agreeing to it. That was the only certainty that he could gather from everything that Xavier has proposed. Everything else was a blur.

"A favour at the expense of severing my friendship with her when she finds out? Wow, Xavier. Just wow."
