Chapter 2

Ysanel just finishing her training session, walks in through the arch way and heads for the console wall to put in her order. When she hears the sound of someone walking up behind her, but she doesn't react because she knows who it is. She is just waiting on what it is that they will say to her this time. They have been trying for the last 2 months to get her to move when she keeps telling them she isn't ready.

???: Ysanel, when are we going to come clean?

Ysanel: (Here we go again) I'm not sure that I'm ready for the council to know. We need to think about this.

????: What is there to think about? The 3 of us have know since a year ago that we were a triad. I don't know about Chance but I for one am tired of sneaking around.

Chance: I am too, and this is getting serious especially with them trying to match us up with humans.

Daniel: Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against humans but I'm not going to continue acting like we are really looking when we've known all along.

Ysanel: I understand where you guys are coming from, but we've already come this far. We just have to meet them and then just let them know we aren't a match.

?????: Yeah that's not going to work especially since Chance and Daniel have been showing signs since the beginning of not being interested.

Chance/Daniel: Where did you come from?

Lowinut: We've been here since the 3 of you walked in. You guys just didn't pay any attention that we were here.

Ian: Yeah, we just let the conversation go on because we were just being nosy.

Ivan: Ysanel, I understand not wanting to disappoint your mom that her only daughter won't be a part of this project. However, I think she'll be more pissed that you've been keep this a secret and just going through the motions.

Lowinut: That actually goes for all 3 of you. But on a side note congratulations on your triad.

Daniel: Same here. But this kind of sucks that you've been keeping this from the group for so long and we haven't figured it out.

???: Or you could be like me who has been waiting for your best friends to tell you.

Everyone's head snaps around to the sound of the new voice to see Xavier and Mykel in the hallway looking into the lounge.

Mykel: We'll at this point the only person that doesn't know but needs to know is Counselor Taquelon. Ysanel, its better coming from you than someone letting it slip of what's going on under the councils' nose so to speak. Don't you think?

Xavier: I just think that you were wasting everybody's time by not saying anything from jump.

Chance: I'm going to have to agree with you Xavier and for what it's worth we should have told at least you.

Before anyone could say anything else, an alert is sent to each of them:

REPORT TO THE CONFERENCE ROOM IN 10 MINUTES.

They all got the same message and looked around the room. Ysanel has a worried look on her face. While Chance/Daniel are determined to get this matter off their chest. There is no time like the present. Mykel and Xavier turn around and head back towards the conference room.

Lowinut: Ysanel just tell her. She will understand.

Ysanel nods her head and heads out of the room towards her mother's quarters.

Taquelon in her quarters making one final check of the information that was updated by Jehrn. A chime notifying that someone is requesting entry.

Taquelon: On screen

Live image of Ysanel standing outside appears.

Taquelon: Access granted

Panel of the wall sinks in and slides into the adjacent wall allowing Ysanel to enter. As soon as she has passed thru the wall slides back into place with a soft click.

Ysanel stands in front of her mother and is trying to get the courage to say what she had determined was the right thing to do, especially since everyone else already knew. Taquelon says nothing but is looking at her daughter and thinking.

She's doing it again. She has been doing that ever since she was a little one. Am I that scary? Well, she is 19 cycles now she needs to get it together and I don't have all day.

Taquelon: You came because you had something you wanted to say. We have 5 minutes before we need to be in the conference room. Just say whatever it is so we can deal with it and move on.

Ysanel: There is no point in Chance, Daniel, or I being in the project.

Taquelon: Oh, why is that?

Ysanel: Because we have been a triad since the mating call last cycle when I came of age. They have kept quiet due to me asking them too.

Taquelon: Oh, why did you ask them too? Why would you stop them or everyone from celebrating with you?

Ysanel: I'm not ready.

Taquelon: So, you aren't ready to be in the spotlight, but you make them hide it like it is something shameful to meet your life partners. Have you marked them?

Ysanel: Yes

Taquelon: You were ready to mark them but you half-assed claimed them. You've marked them so that they wont be able to move on but your not ready to put it out there that you are off the market. Remember, they cant have other mates only you because they've accepted your mark. You are selfish and I know that I didn't raise a coward. I'm disappointed.

Taquelon: Look at the time, your 5 minutes is up.

Taquelon walks past her daughter towards the wall that is sliding open and exits the room. Ysanel with her head down leaves the room but instead of going to the conference room she heads to her own living quarters.

Taquelon arrives at the conference room and doesn't say anything to those who have gathered around.

Taquelon: System play new materials sent by Jehrn from 5 hours ago.

Corrected material begins to play. Taquelon takes this time to get her emotions in order.

Xavier: So, they had the wrong pictures with the female's information. So, they were correct with the name of the person I match with just put the wrong picture. That makes this a whole lot easier.

Rocq/Mykel: Agreed

Ivan: How come that girl wasn't in there the last time? I actually felt something this time. What was her name? Robyn?

Ian: Yeah, Robyn is the one for us.

Taquelon (couldn't help but snort at the twin's antics): Somehow when the file had originally sent her, and her brother were left out. Looks like we just need to find the mate for her brother and Lowinut. Who knows maybe we have another triad in the making? As for Chance and Daniel, Ysanel has told me about your situation. I can only apologize for the immaturity of my daughter. I leave her in your hands.

Taquelon bows to Chance and Daniel, straightens up and then addresses the rest of the room.

Taquelon: We will be at the space center in less than 5 hours, which gives all of you time to figure out how you will go about meeting your potential mate and their sibling(s). Until then we will do our own thing. Peace out girl scouts. Earthling slang is so weird. I've got to figure out what a girl scout is... (Taquelon walks off talking to herself and everyone in the room just looks at each other.)
