EPISODE 67: The New Moon!*

I went with Logan to an island known as Newmoon Island. Well, it took fifteen minutes for the ferry to bring us there and to my surprise, the island is a lot bigger than what I initially thought. At first, it was as if the island was just an isle laying in the middle of the vast sea but that all changed when the ferry brought us closer. It's like a large chunk of rocks piled together or the remains of a planet that once crashed into ours during its advent.

Newmoon Island is a rocky island that has a small clearing with a pond containing darker than normal water which is shaped as a circle to represent the new moon. No wild Pokémon is said to reside on the island which makes me wonder why Logan still believed there was a rare Pokemon nearby.

Upon reaching the island, I felt this unexpected chill. My nerves were literally breaking loose from the vessels and veins of my body. They flowed up and back my spine for some reason and I was having double thoughts to return back to Snowpoint for there seems to be a storm heading by.

We just set foot and the clouds above were getting darker. It has a mysterious presence. Everything was in a state of quietude. I could not hear anything besides the bellowing wind, warning us to get off but an adventurer like Logan is always ready for danger.

The ferry waited as me and Logan went further from them. I was following his footsteps as he chatted about his Pokemon. I kept on replying with yes and yes even if I do understand what he was talking about for I was remaining cautious while he remained confident about the upcoming storm.

Then we felt a sudden strength in the wind, its final warning, telling us to return wherever we came from. Though, the two of us did not listen and we still persisted to walk upon the giant rock. Then came the thunders who stopped by to fiddle with us. They kept forcing my body to shake, as if I was experiencing an Earthquake of my own.

The island is simple. No trees, no plants, no grass, absolutely colorless and boring. Though, I have to say, this place has a ton of caves and according to Logan, a Pokemon lives nearby. Somewhere within this island is a cave. That is where the Pokemon lives.

"Hey, so... can we head back now? It's going to rain soon." I pleaded, hugging myself with my arms.

"Are you afraid of the rain? Let nothing stop us from achieving our goal."

"What? I never said I was afraid of the rain. Though, I'm afraid of getting a fever."

"And why is that?"

"Work of course! I kept using my leave which is bad. Should've planned things first before going all-in with those ten options."

"Yeesh, work here and there? Don't you experience fun once in a while?"

"Weren't you listening?! I'm almost out of leaves which means I kept using them. Of course, I have fun sometimes."

Both of us were throwing sarcasm at each other and it doesn't stop there. He kept blabbering on why I should join him and not mind the upcoming storm. It was at that moment when I felt a droplet of water falling to my nose. That droplet was the leader of its brethren, hundreds, or even thousands of more to come.

"Great! Now it's raining!" I told him.

"There's a cave by the distance, hurry." he pulled my hand again and for the second time it became sweaty and I was having this awkward feeling. The rain came like a thief in the night, never knowing when it would strike despite the clouds have forewarned about it.

The downpour only worsened. It doesn't seem to plan to stop just yet for the clouds aren't done with their crying session. My entire jacket is soaked with water and now I'm completely done for when Charlotte finds out I'm wet.

We were able to reach a cave however before the storm reached its strongest point. There, Logan made a fire with the use of some twigs and stones to dry ourselves up. It gave us warmth throughout the storm succumbing to the island. We can only hope our ferry wasn't wrecked by tidal waves. I had to remove my jacket momentarily to dry it up.

"I think I'm going to have a fever because of you." I pouted at Logan while my body shivered. Though, I tried my best to cool myself with the blazing heat of the fire in front of me.

"You can let go of a fever but never the spirit of adventure. That's what makes adventure exciting! The dangers that come with it. Where's the fun if all adventure ever had was plain and boring games?"

"Humph." I turned my head away from him.

"Are you that cold? You can have my extra jacket if you want, it's in my bag so it's definitely not wet."

"I refuse."

"Okay, you are "cold". Come on, take it. And whatever you're thinking, it's not."

"I'm still mad at you." I took the jacket and cloaked myself on it. I also pouted at him.

"Well-"

Something whispered from the bowels of the cave. It lulled us, dragging us closer to it. My body cloaked on Logan's spare jacket, the two of us stood up and followed the whispering voice. Our guards were low, and we didn't know where we were heading. All we did was to listen to the strange whisper and follow it wherever it dares to take us.

On the other end of the cave was a pond so pristine, one could see their reflection. I wouldn't call it a pond though, but rather a lake in the stomach of Earth. Then the water changed. From pristine to a murky oozing type of mud that neither of us couldn't comprehend. It was as if the pond was dipped by shadows aplenty.

From the center of the lake, we saw two eyes, blue to be precise that slowly emerged forth. It is a black, shadow-like Pokémon. It has a small head with a white fog-like ghostly plume billowing from its head covering one of its bright blue eyes, with the portion on its face resembling hair. It also has a red spiky growth around its neck.

It has skinny arms and long black tatters hanging from its shoulders. It also has black, claw-like hands. It has the slight appearance of an hourglass figure and appears to be wearing an old, ripped cloak.

<Two of you had come to my home, for what cause?>the Pokemon was able to comprehend human speech.

"Well, at first we came to look for a Pokemon-"

<Me?>

"N... no."

<You're a liar. I am the only Pokemon who lives here you mortal! You've come to capture me for your own works. I am Darkrai, and I prohibit anyone from capturing me.> The Pokemon became aggressive all of a sudden after realizing Logan's words were nothing but a pure lie.
