Chapter 21: Sleepover

After going on every ride in the park twice, Braxton and Colton said we should leave, despite our pleas to do one more round.

The lines were actually not too bad and with the fast passes, we didn't have too wait more than 5 minutes for each ride.

I wasn't sure how I would like it, but the thrill was amazing! I surprised myself at how much I was laughing.

Melody thought I was weird because I guess I am one of those people who don't scream, but just laugh when their on a roller coaster.

Anyways, the devils dragged us out of the park using the excuse that it looked like a storm was coming in soon and we had a few hours left still.

Knowing that I don't do to well with rainstorms , I readily agreed.

We had been in the car about 30 minutes, when the downpour of rain first started causing us to have to slow down so we didn't hydroplane.

Hearing the sound of the rain against the car, I cant help but feel anxious as I remember that night again.

I just want to hide in a corner and curl up in ball away from rain.

Colton squeezes my hand as if asking if I'm okay since my face went a little pale.

I just nod my head since I obviously cant explain it.

We drove a few more minutes before Braxton's driver spoke up, "Sir, the rain is coming down really hard, some cars ahead are starting to skid, I think it would best if we pulled over to stop at the nearest hotel. My navigation said we should be passing a Hilton in the next ten minutes."

Braxton doesn't think long as he says, "Make the stop. Better safe than sorry." with a sly smile as he eyes Melody who now looks like she is going to have a panic attack.

I don't know why, it isn't like we will have to share a room with them...

or so I thought, but these devils man.

When we arrived at the hotel, we waited as Braxton went up to the concierge to get us some rooms and I was freezing because I had gotten wet coming in and I clearly am not dressed for the rain.

Colton saw this and draped his jacket over my should which I happily accepted and zipped it up.

Stupid tall devil, his jacket looks like a dress on me, but whatever.

Holding the collar up, I can't help, but think of how it has his scent on it that makes me feel like his arm are wrapped around me. It feels kind of safe.

Colton just stands next to Serenity admiring how good she looks in his jacket.

Braxton walks up holding a key card and with a sly smile he says, "Okay so I got us a room, but there was only one left, but it is a suite with two bedrooms."

"Great, me and Serenity will take the beds, you guys can take the couch." Melody says with a smirk.

Braxton shakes his head and looks at her and says, "We will see about that."

She blushes and ignores him.

Colton grabs the key card from him and then takes my hand or should I say sleeve since his jacket is so huge on me, and lead us to the suite number listed on the key.

Once in the room, me and Melody immediately claim the bedrooms, leaving the devils to themselves.

Once in the room I immediately go for the bathroom to take a hot bath.

I strip from my wet clothes and hang up Colton's jacket before hopping into the bath with one of the provided bath bombs and relax my muscles since I trained this morning then ran around the amusement like a child.

As if she read Serenity's mind, Melody also decided to take off her wet clothes, but instead of a bath, she opted for a hot shower.

When Melody finished, she wrapped herself in the hotel provided bath robe and walked out of the bathroom only to see a very sexy shirtless Braxton standing by the bed.

She stood there like a fool, dumbstruck until Braxton threw his shirt at her, "You can wear this to bed, I will the shower now." he says with a wink and walks passed her into the shower.

In the other room, Serenity had finished her bath and dried herself off.

When I was about to get dressed, is suddenly realized I didnt really have anything that was dry to change into so I just wore that devils jacket again since it was better than nothing.

I walked out of the bath room finger combing my wet hair since I couldn't be bothered to dry it with the blow dryer.

Too much effort.

Just as I crawled into the big bed, I heard a knock on the door and told them to come in.

A second later, Colton and his stupid handsome face walked in and asked, "Can I use the bathroom now?"

"Yup." I say popping the 'p.'

He gives me that sinfully sexy smirk he does and I just look at him extremely confused and he just ignores me and walks into the bathroom, so I choose to ignore it and lay down snuggling up in the blanket and falling asleep.

Poor Melody didn't have it as easy falling asleep since a certain man was harassing her with a sob story about how it was so cold in outside the bedroom and the cough was hard.

She finally gave into him and let him on the bed which he hopped on without even giving her a second to change her mind and then put his arm around her.

Annoyed at the man, she couldn't help, but punch his rib cage.

She finally decided to just pretend he wasnt there as she treated his body as a pillow and fell asleep.

Hearing her steady breathing as her head lay on his chest, Braxton touched his nose and smiled and then being the dumbnut he is, he sent a picture text to her sis con brother and said she was safe and to tell Hayden that Serenity was safe with Colton.

He then fell asleep unaware of the chaos he started at home with two sister obsessed brothers who were preparing to fight him and of course Colton who was implicated with the text.

Colton came out of the bathroom 20 minutes later and stood still a minute as he saw his little beauty was asleep.

Before leaving the room he went up to her and kissed her forehead lightly.

As soon as I heard the door closed, I opened my eyes and felt cheeks grow hot, 'What was that?' I thought as I closed my eyes to force myself to fall asleep.

Around midnight as everyone was asleep, you could vaguely make out a cry coming from a room in the suite.

I had woken up at the sound of the thunder and saw lightening flashing towards the window, taking me back to the stormy night in my past as I ran away only to fall to what I thought was my death.

I couldn't help but curl up, cover my ears, close my eyes tight and cry without caring where I was.

I just want to forget what happened, but my mind won't let me, it wants me to remember so that I won't make the same mistakes as before.

This was the scene that Colton had walked in on when he heard her cry.

He had rushed in thinking someone had broke in, but was immediately relieved when he found it wasn't like that.

His face filled with worry as he saw his little beauty curled in ball with her ears tightly covered and her eyes shut with tears coming out as she tried to cry silently.

She still looked beautiful to him even in tears.

Coming out of his trance, he gent sat next to her and scooped her fragile like self into his lap as he ran his finger through her hair and tried to calm her down, "Shh, what's wrong, I'm here, it's okay now." he whispered gently to her.

I opened my eyes slightly to see Colton is holding me and I just felt safe in his arms.

Hearing his voice and feeling the vibration of it as I lay my head against his chest calmed me down enough so I could reply, "I don't like storms."

Her hoarse voice from crying broke his heart, but he couldn't help but smile as she cuddled into him and started falling asleep again.

She could strong and fierce, but she could also be gentle, vulnerable and childlike.

He already knew this little goddess had him so in love with her and one day he would make her fall for him too.

This was his last thought before he pulled the blanket over them as he laid them down with her cuddled in his arms and he fell asleep.
