They had party through the day till the night, he regrets it now, but nothing that could be done. Annixon gently removed Anastacia from his lap. He moved Celty so that she could lean against Anastacia's legs and lastly, gently lifted Sinah and placed her in another chair he could find.
Satisfied that he didn't wake any of them he went to the bow of the ship. He was worried that they veered off course. He couldn't say for sure but there were a lot of people at that party. Such an unnecessary waste of food. To his surprise, there was actually somebody on the helm.
He walked up the stairs to go talk with the young man there, "Good morning sir."
The young blonde man smiled at him, "Good morning, master Bright."
Annixon's head was throbbing and being called a master didn't help one bit, "I thought everybody was involved in the party, and by the way, just call me Annixon, or Bright if you preferred."
"Ah well, I did partake in the festivities but a few of us wouldn't drink too much. We were still on duty after all."
Annixon smiled, "Goodman."
"Strictly speaking sir, passengers aren't allowed up here."
"Ah, yes my apologies. I will leave now."
"You don't have to. I don't think the captain will chase you of all people away, for what you had done for us."
A familiar deep voice sounded off behind them, "Little Young Jimmy would be right. The ship is still standing due to you after all. Go wherever you want, Master Bright. You have my express permission."
"I don't like being called master, it just sounds…wrong, but I think I told you this before."
"Ah yes, my apologies. So how are you feeling?"
"I ain't a heavy drinker, so I am reeling a bit. Don't you think yesterday was a bit of a waste?"
"Of course not. Do you know how many people actually face a Kraken and lived to tell the tale?"
Duval lifted up four fingers, "I heard of four people surviving an encounter. Even if you somehow survive the encounter, you still have to deal with the extremities, not to mention the saw-teeth."
Annixon sighed and asked, "Please tell me that you have something for a headache."
"Of course I do. It's called Talcem ale. Nasty stuff, but it works."
"More alcohol!? Can't say that I am excited about that one."
"Jimmy, I will take the wheel. Why don't you go get us some Talcem ale?"
The young sailor saluted and ran off.
Davul's face turned serious, "So tell me a bit about your troubles that you've been facing."
"What is there to say that wasn't covered yesterday?"
"I was drunk for one. So I couldn't remember a tiny smidgen. All I could remember was you trying to juggle some detorbs and that you kept telling the girls to stop drinking."
"Sounds like me. As for my troubles. I pissed off some elves and a lord."
"This lord. Who was it?"
"Louis van der Hart."
Duval laughed, "That piece of sorry excrement. He would sell his own daughters for some political gain."
"Ironic that is exactly what happened."
"Did she elope?"
"Well not entirely. She ran away…because of me. I basically asked her too. I also made a bit of a mess in the lord's house."
"Something tells me you are putting it mildly. So where is the girl?"
"You already met her."
"Ah, the lass Anastacia, if I remember correctly or was in Sinah?"
"Anastacia…that being said, they might send ships, maybe, perhaps."
"They would be fools to attack us. We have more men than any of their ships unless they come with an armada. Something tells me that won't be a problem with you on board, but if they bring the 'The King's Bishop" we might be in trouble."
"What so special about it?"
Jimmy showed up after a while with the concoction in hand. The captain took a swig of it and gave it to Annixon. Annixon took a swig of it and nearly puked, "This stuff is rancid!"
"Aye, but it works. So as for your question. The entire ship is immune to magic. Expensive to make, but a god damn juggernaut in the sea. He luckily owns only one of them."
Annixon already started to feel fine. That stuff worked! He shrugged, "Not really. While I will need a few men's help. I can sink that ship within the hour."
"If you said that to me before I would have laughed you off. Not so much anymore. You are the first human being to kill a Kraken after all."
Annixon shook his head. He couldn't believe nobody had thought about it, "That brings me to my next order of business. Do you know of any alchemists on board?"
"Mmm…not sure, but we do have an elf on board. It might be useful to look into that. She has a private room in the bilge. Something about the place is apparently more useful for plants."
Annixon was apprehensive of the idea, "Yeah that could be trouble. Me and the elves don't have a good relationship."
"How did the elves look like that you made trouble with?"
"Odd question. I guess it's safe to say they had mostly yellow hair and bright green eyes."
"Sounds like the blood elves. It would make sense. Not far from that port is their forest. It seems you have been busy."
"Maybe I would tell you all about it someday. For now, what can you tell me about her?"
"Wood elf from the look of things. Brown hair, big light brown eyes, and tends to wear something wooden on their heads. Just tell her the captain sent you."
"My apologies, but can I be excused?"
Duval laughed, "What is with that formality, go!"
Annixon smiled and made a quick nod. He ran down the stairs, all the way down to the bottom of the ship.
He knocked on the door. A young elven girl opened the door. Annixon smiled and said, "I was sent by the captain. I wish to speak to you."
The girl remained. She pulled her leg back and went straight for Annixon's crown jewels. Annixon wasn't expecting a retaliation like that from a kid. He grabbed his nuts and sank to the floor, "You take me for a fool, human! Why would humans want to speak to us?!"
While still on the floor trying to find his breath, he barely spoke, "I am only looking for an alchemist…"
"Maania that is incredibly rude what you just did.", and elder Elvin appeared.
"My name is Naitra. I apologize for my grandchild. She is incredibly distrustful of humans. How can I help you?
