The Demon King

Numerous black pillars had ornamented the chamber from the entering gate to the throne, allowing the visitors to move through such magnificent pieces of architecture. As one's eyes could behold, there seemed no end to the lines of the pillar at the sides of the Throne Hall. Looking overhead, no ceiling could be seen as the darkness had covered everything in the higher sight. Neither a horizontal end nor a vertical limit existed; everything appeared endless as the supreme ruler of this palace.

The sculptured devil figures over the walls had two crimson diamonds carefully placed inside of their eye sockets, shining a sharp red gleam over the dark sides of the hall.

While the flaming torches lightened the way toward the throne, the demonic royal guards ensured the security of the castle. They'd look like humans at first glance, but with giving more attention, some important details could assure that these creatures are far from being a mere human. Those cold, inhuman eyes could never belong to a weak and emotional existence such as humanity. The signs of evil had darkened their human-like expressions, having a humanoid face but with an aura of Evil spirit. Exactly as expected of Evil, being beautiful and human in appearance, but cruel and heartless.

These guards, who'd stood orderly before the dark columns, produced a frightening satanic vibe, which would never fail to terrify the hearts of men. No one would ever put these devilish monsters in such a great quantity for just a security purpose. The real reason to leave them in the throne hall was to terrorize the ones who'd come to meet the Demon King. Considering his inhuman nature and unimaginable strength, there was no need for these unholy creatures to manage the safety of such an individual, who was a monster among monsters.

The splendid decoration and the mobilized demon soldiers would let the guests become completely familiar with the greatness of the Demon King by the time they reach the end of the hall, where he's seating on his "majestic" seat.

The utmost feeling of terror resided under the Demon King's institution, the place for the horrifying dungeons made to torture the innocent humans and other existent species. So getting terrorized just because of looking straight at those cruel eyes would be nothing compared with the dread occurring down the palace.

The extent of the Throne Room was completely overwhelmed by the still atmosphere, but it didn't stay like that as the creaking sound of the large entrance pierced the silence. A gorgeous, blue-eyed woman entered the hall, wearing a pure black dress without sleeves. She wore a red necklace secured from the neck to below her breasts, emitting a striking scarlet light.

Unlike her gloomy outfit, she possessed long white hairs reaching her waist. Looking down, a silky black belt was loosely fastened about her hips as the thigh-high boots covered her legs completely.

After stepping inside of the hall, she didn't hesitate even for a moment, immediately walking across the lines of Demon Guards and the devil statues. Her style of walking wasn't womanly and seductive. The way she moved one step after another and how a formal woman would tread weren't alike. Her treads corresponded with those of warriors'. One could recognize the fighting spirit just by hearing her footfalls and watching the manner of her footsteps.

However, the most eye-catching characteristic of this woman rested in her countenance. Her eyes weren't only impenetrable and inscrutable but also colder than those of the royal guards', making it impossible to read through her mind. Just a simple look by those cruel blue eyes would be enough to freeze the warmth and heat of humanity.

The difference between her and the arranged demons was clear to understand; nothing even close to one's imagination could describe the cruelty and wickedness in her looks.

She continued stepping forward while keeping her unintelligible, frosty expression. Meantime, the royal Demon Guards began bowing down to her one after another, again going back into the default order after getting passed by.

Although the distance to the Demon King's throne seemed endless, the deep darkness faded away from the view. The "so-called glorious" seat was finally visible. Her continuous footsteps could no longer be heard since she'd stopped moving further.

A few short stairs blocked her way, leading to a high, heavy throne about 30 feet ahead. It wasn't "majestic" at all. It was something absolutely beyond being horrific. Several sets of human skulls stuck firmly over the throne's base under two flaming orbs in front of the arms. A pair of dragon wings had emerged from behind the throne, casting a shadow over the settings. The seat itself was made of flesh, blood, bones, skin, and the cries of thousands of beings, getting surfaced by some rare grayish metals.

The only thing one would feel was fear when facing such a degree of Evil. Whoever could sit on such a place would never be called a King. Mere words such as King and Ruler couldn't even be close to what "He" truly was.

The innocent screams of the Humans, the roars of the Dragons, the dignity and authority of the Kings, the deceit and fraud of the Sinners, the divinity and immortality of the Gods, the sorcery and magic of the Wizards, the weapons and spirits of the Warriors, the intelligence and wisdom of the Priests, all of them could be sensed and heard from inside of the Throne. All of these poor souls were trapped in that place, having no way but to suffer endlessly.

On top of the throne stood a faint presence. It was the Demon King's human form, an average silver-haired man. Unlike his tricky young appearance, which strongly implied him to be in his youth, he had lived more than thousands of years, seeing the rising and falling of many Empires.

He was wearing a metalized shirt with detailed signs and symbols, woven perfectly from neck to waist and back to chest. The extent of his body from the crotch to above the knees was more or less covered by an apron of heavy strips made of a very expensive golden fabric, fastened firmly with a steel strap.

The individual known to be the ultimate Evil was sitting cross-legged on his prepared throne, having his right hand supporting his chin. After hearing all of the terrible rumors about him and walking through the lines of Demons to approach such a horrifying place, one would expect him to truly carry the name of "Adin the Immortal".

However, what one would see instead was nothing more than an exhausted emperor. There was a doubt whether this person could even be an emperor. His air felt like every other normal peasant you can find anywhere in the world. Nobody's expectations would sink this much low to predict a person like him can be Adin the immortal, the nightmare of the free people.

More importantly, the most disappointment was his eyes. They're not cruel and cold like hers, not even at the same level as the Royal Guards. Those eyes couldn't even scare a child, let alone putting fear in the hearts of strong human warriors.

The stories described Demon King as the monster who could put an end to a fight by just looking at his enemies, though right then there was no sign of an unimaginable fearful look. His aura didn't convey anything devilish, nor was his gesture inscrutable to hide the truth behind it. Consequently, only a quick look by any normal man would be enough to read Adin's true feeling:

— He was bored —

That's what immortality do to you. Sad to see my boi Demon King like this... :(((
