Crushing pressure

The ground started emitting a rumbling sound and ended up shaking. One could see smaller loose stones, grass, and sticks crawling and flying towards the beach ball sized boulder in the center. Plants rooted deep in the ground started pointed towards that direction and some were uprooted to fly and plaster themselves on the surface. The pressure of gravity the boulder was giving off was enough to crush them the moment they hit. Rocks smashed themselves into it, sticks broke themselves into fibers, the trees surrounding started swaying. Even the trees with weaker roots got pulled out of the ground and flew to the center just to smash themselves on a boulder many times smaller.

All the other boulders inside the copse started shaking and pulling themselves along the ground creating deep ruts. The dirt that was displaced immediately flew to the center and disappeared into nothingness due to the great force exerting pressure in the area. The wind was pulled from all around and it felt like a immense gale was forming in the center of the clearing.

'How come I can't feel any pressure exerted on myself? Is it because I'm the one causing it? Does my aura protect me?' Aoi noticed more and more trees started uprooting and cracking and breaking. 'The trees Aru-chan is hiding behind look like they could topple any second now. I better stop while I'm ahead.'

She stopped increasing the density and mass of the boulder and proceeded to imagine it returning to normal. The fierce wind died down, escaping off to all directions. Aoi stopped circulating her mana and the glow faded away. Over at Arunika's end, she was just glad to still be alive after being plastered to the tree for the past five minutes while the pressure slowly crushed her. She slumped to the ground catching her breath.

"HAAH, HAAH, HAAH!" She got up and walked around to where she could see Aoi and yelled, "WHAT THE- HAAH- HELL WAS- HAAH- THAT?!" She noticed Aoi was lost in thought, holding her chin in one hand while grasping her elbow with the other, so she started staggering over. Upon arriving beside Aoi, still gasping, she heard what she was mumbling to herself.

"... like that. The power ... alone can destroy .... I can make it ... or widespread ... that? I don't ... see remnants left behind."

Arunika was flabbergasted by how non-chalant Aoi was being about all of this. She stood in front of Aoi abrubtly, grabbed her shoulders, and started shaking her. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!"

"StoOoOop shaAaAakiIiIing meEe!"

Arunika stopped. "Sorry, but... but... that was intense! I almost got crushed against the tree! I felt like my chest was going to pop!"

Aoi scratched her cheek sheepishly and stuck her tongue out. "Teehee."

"Don't teehee me!"

"Sorry... I did say it was going to be dangerous, didn't I?"

"You did, but even when I was hiding, I felt like I was going to die! What happened anyway? How did you do that? I've never seen gravity magic that powerful before."

"Well, you see... All I did was increase-" Aoi started explaining the properties of gravity to Arunika and by the time she was done all she could see was Arunika tilting her head to the side with a blank look. She could practically see the question marks floating over her head. "You know... I think teaching you how to use your magic properly might be a little hard."

Arunika shook her head. "No no no no. Please teach meeeee!" She grabbed Aoi into a big hug. "PLEEEEAAASSSEEE!"

"Don't worry. You're my wife so I'll be sure to teach you properly, but you have to promise me you'll learn properly."

Arunika nodded her head enthusiastically and Aoi returned the hug with a smile. "That's my girl. By the way, I still need to test storage magic and teleportation magic. I'd love to test the so-called fire magic seeing as how my own magic doesn't affect me, but you'd have to be pretty far from me if I did."

"Please don't."

"Fufufu. I won't. And I'll not try teleportation magic right now, but I at least want to see if I can use storage magic."

Arunika looked apprehensive. "Do... do I need to stand away for this one?"

"No honey, you don't. I'm just going to try it out. I don't even know if it'll work, but I noticed the systems of magic sort of work in tandem with a combination of imagination and scietific facts. Now hush. Let me concentrate."

Arunika became quiet and let Aoi concentrate. Aoi thought of the warmth and her aura showed itself again. This time it was a quicker reaction, like she's getting used to the idea of cycling her mana. She pictured a box of 1 square meter in size beside her. She reached down to pick up a stone that wasn't destroyed and chucked it into the air by her side. It flew a couple of feet and disappeared in mid-air.

Afterwards, an image of a box popped up in her mind and inside the box was the stone she just threw. "Well, I guess that works, but now how do I get it out?" After thinking for a few minutes, she just decides to reach into the space where the stone disappeared. When her hand reached the space, her fingers, hand, then arm disappeared and the air around looked like it was shimmering. It looked like when a droplet hits a body of water and ripples form on the water's surface.

The image once again popped up in her thoughts and she saw the rock, but nothing else. She tried reaching around but couldn't feel anything. 'Well... how do I get the stone out?' The second she thought of the stone, a small weight appeared in her hand. She retracted her hand and when her arm reappeared, sitting in her palm was the stone she threw. "HA! That easy? Hey Aru-chan? You want to use this or do you just want to keep carrying your knapsack?"

"Erm... Let me just keep using my knapsack. It was a gift from the one who activated my mana and I'll feel reassured to know it's on my back."

"En, that's fine, but let me know if you change your mind. Come here."

Arunika came over and Aoi hugged her with her arms wrapped her neck. "MMMMMWAH! Fufu. A little something for you to make up for hurting you."

"Nope, not enough! I need another. NO! Wait... uhm, 3 more, then we'll call it even."

"Fufu, okay. Mwah! One. Mwah! Two." On the third, Aoi didn't just make it a peck. She placed her hand behind Arunika's head and dove in for a passionate kiss. She nibbled and sucked on Arunika's lower lip before releasing it with a popping sound. Aoi's lips parted hers and she inserted her tongue.

"Mmm..." Arunika obviously enjoying this wrapped her arms around Aoi's waist, but before they could continue further, a voice shattered the peace.

"The disturbance came from inside here!"

Sometimes, naming a chapter is as easy as pie. Other times, it's like trying to figure out a name in a character creation menu. I spent an hour trying to think of a chapter name.

This chapter's a little shorter than all the others, but I just couldn't think of what to stuff in here without becoming redundant.
