Theoric didn't waste any time in leading them back to the boat, eager to move on.
Selene knowing his intentions, asked,- "Do you not care about meeting the witch who supposedly knows the way safely through where we need to go?"
Theoric couldn't help but smirk at the joke,- "Why would we need help to get safely through by sea, I could always fly us over any obstacle if it proved too dangerous, no I'm not interested in meeting some magical witch who has their own motives for seeking out the treasure."
"You can fly?" asked Selene, still unaware of all he could do.
"Yes."
A confused Selene, asked- "Then do tell me why on earth are we walking if you are in such a rush?"
Sigyn giggled,- "It's because he hates it, although I'm still not sure why, Theo, why do you hate it?"
Selene even more confused, asked,- "You hate flying?"
Theoric sighed,- "Sigyn, how many times do I have to explain it, I don't like picking myself up like a puppet." He explained as best he could.
Selene still looked at him weirdly,- "Frist time I heard someone say they hate flying."
Theoric denied,- "You don't understand, it doesn't even feel like flying, enough I don't want to talk about it anymore," making Sigyn giggle again.
Selene then stopped in her tracks, holding up a hand, signaling for them to stop.
Theoric- "What is it?"
Selene- "There are many people ahead, many soldiers, I think they're here for us."
Sigyn concerned by the news exclaimed- "What!? Do you think Lydia and Nina are okay?" She asked thinking of her friends first.
Theoric- "I wouldn't worry about it, Lydia should be able to take care of any men who want to cause her harm, and if not, then Nina can stone them, but the question is how did they know?"
"You think it was the witch?" Sigyn asked, throwing out an idea.
Selene- "Maybe, what do you want to do now?"
Theoric looked over,- "First we'll see what they want, and if it's nothing good, then you and Grani can have a bit of fun, you can eat all you want."
Selene then rubbed her stomach and said something she thought she never would,- "No thanks, I'm kinda full still."
Which got her a chuckle from Theoric,- "Plenty more where that came from my dear, now let's go see what all this is about."
Selene- "Why bother, you know it's going to be the treasure."
Theoric- "True, but you should still make absolute certainty before doing anything, plus we still need to give them a chance."
Sigyn frowned- "Theo, why don't we just go around and avoid them?"
Theoric paused,- "Well, that would be the easier solution, but what happens when it's someone else that can't just go around, what happens then, don't you want to make sure that this doesn't happen to others in the future, to those who can't protect themselves."
Sigyn sadly agreed,- "I guess."
Seeing them approaching, General Cnaeus rode forward with four of his bodyguards to parley, intending to see his King's will done personally.
Sigyn whispered to a tense Grani,- "Don't do anything unless I tell you to."
Grani- "Yes Mistress."
Stopping a couple of dozen feet away, General Cnaeus spoke,- "I am General Cnaeus here on behalf of King Minos to discuss terms of surrender, you have in your possession something that doesn't belong to you, something we can't allow you to take off this island, please hand over the item and we can allow you safe passage away."
Selene sneered,- "He lies, he's even prepared to threaten the lives of our companions if we don't do as he says."
Scowling, Theoric reached out with his hand enveloping all five of them in his power, tearing them from their saddles and face-planting them into the ground, dragging them closer before putting them on their knees.
Trying to contain his anger, he asked them through clenched teeth,- "Tell me where they are, and if there is so much as one hair out of place on their head, I'll burn your entire kingdom to the ground."
General Cnaeus completely flabbergasted didn't even know what to say as he tried to think about what just happened. The King warned him that they would be different, but this was beyond his expectations, this was leaning into god territory with how easily the man took control of them with little effort.
Thinking of something, General Cnaeus tried to plead his case so he wouldn't be killed on the spot, with a secret only he knew being the King's right-hand man,- "Look, I don't know what you hope to accomplish, but you should know that King Minos is a son of Zeus, you'll be going against the King of the Gods doing this."
Theoric not receiving the answer he wanted, popped the heads of his guards, threatening him once more,- "I won't ask again."
Selene then put her hand on Theoric's shoulder as she passed by, saying- "Please, allow me," as she strode towards the man who tensed slightly seeing her hand approach.
General Cnaeus sneered,- "Do your worst, you won't get anything more out of me, you'll regret not striking a deal with me."
Selene giggled evilly,- "Humans can be so stupid sometimes, forgetting that I already have and will again," she said, eyes glowing red as she placed her hand on his head draining him of everything.
Finished, she let the dried husk fall as she turned to Theoric,- "There is a bronze creature called Talus attacking them as we speak, he expects them to be captured shortly."
"Kill them all." Theoric said before he took off flying, telepathically communicating as he went,- 'Sigyn I'll go first and make sure they're fine, stay safe, call me if anything comes up that you can't handle.'
Sigyn- 'Be careful my love, go save them.'
Selene sighed as she turned to the attacking army that moved into action upon seeing their General fall,- "He could have brought us along, guess I'll take care of the small fry's, how about you? Will you be fine on your own?"
Sigyn snorted- "Don't worry about me just worry about yourself, let me know if you need any healing."
Seeing arrows being shot, Sigyn created a wall of plant roots to block them only to look over and see Selene standing out in the open without care,- "What are you doing, get over here!"
Selene grinned, she thought it was cute how Sigyn was trying to act tough one minute but worried for her the next.
Freaking out at Selene not moving, Sigyn tried to make another wall in time only to see the first volley get through and pelt Selene,- "Oh no!" she exclaimed as she finished the wall and headed over to find Selene pulling arrows out.
Selene smirked while showing off her healing factor, wounds closing instantly after she pulled the arrows out,- "I think I'll be just fine."
Sigyn pouted,- "You didn't need to do that, you're just another bully like Theo, hmph!"
Selene laughed,- "One of these days I'll join you in the bedroom and show you how much of a bully I can be."
Sigyn blushed,- "Don't you get cocky, I am the number one wife."
Selene drew closer enjoying the flirting right before a fight,- "Is that so?" She asked rubbing her hands through Sigyn's hair as she locked eyes with her while occasionally looking down at her lips as she leaned forward.
Sigyn taken aback didn't immediately react at first as their lips locked but managed to regain composure realizing what was happening as another volley hit the wall.
Hands roaming, she found one of the holes in her suit and pinched, causing Selene to yelp, jumping back in surprise.
Selene laughed,- "I see you can be quite feisty, but you're just turning me on more,"
Blushing, Sigyn retorted,- "I'll have Theo put you in your place when the time comes, and then I'll show you who's number one."
Selene grinned,- "I can't wait." Causing Sigyn's red face to get even redder.
Grani just sat on the side drawing circles, wondering when Mistress was going to let him fight.
---------------------------------------------
Coming back from his inspection King Minos saw General Cnaeus ride out to the party to what he assumed was his attempt to secretly deal,- "Why the hell is Cnaeus riding out there, I don't need him to put himself at risk, sometimes that man takes things to literal, just because I wanted it to remain between us doesn't mean to take the initiative to go yourself, you're a general for God's sake," He complained seeing his headstrong friend try and do everything himself as usual.
Shortly thereafter he watched his good friend dragged down to his knees and then fall.
King Minos yelled,- "NOOO! Cnaeus, why did you go... ATTACK, KILL THEM, BRING ME THEIR HEADS!"
He then watched as one of them flew away.
Taking out his javelin, he gripped it thinking about attacking only to watch as he got further and further away towards the docks.
King Minos yelled out to the men who were dumbstruck seeing someone fly by,- "DON'T JUST STAND THERE, ATTACK, ZEUS IS WITH US, ATTACK THE DEMONS IN HUMAN SKIN, ATTACK!" He shouted, trying to get the men refocused and ready as he came up with a better reason to fight.
Continuing his new narrative to pump up the men, King Minos yelled- "The gods want us to kill these dangerous demons that like to parade around in human skin, protect your families, protect the city and fight these demon spawns, kill them, kill them all!"
Using his new motive, he started to spread the news that they were fighting demons in human skin and that they had strange powers that they needed to watch out for.
The soldiers ate it all up, hook, line, and sinker, they had no reason to doubt their king who was loved by the gods.
