Chapter Three - Ice Sealing Jutsu

Ernie's silver hair grew longer over the years, it now stretched down his back. For some reason it never got tangled nor looked frizzy. With his height growing, he grew out of his old clothes relatively quickly.

He ended up creating clothes from the fur of animals, at least to cover his groin.

"Goodbye, old friend."

Ernie said as he looked towards the cave which has been his home for 7 years.

For him keeping track of time wasn't that hard, everytime winter came around he marked it. There were 7 winters total since he's been here, so that meant 7 years passed by.

Ernie's figure blurred as he vanished from the spot he was at and ended up on a tree branch.

He was constantly moving through the trees at a fast pace.

Through the years he's explored a bit of the area around the cave, in all directions. There was a nearby river that was less than a mile away. His first thought was to go there and follow the river until he reached some clan, but people couldn't be trusted.

They might try to take advantage of him considering his age. The best thing to do now was to see where exactly he was.

In Naruto, there were five lands, Water, Wind, Fire, Lightning and Earth. Granted, there were various other lands, but those were much smaller, and basically a part of the five main ones.

His memories didn't help him much considering that his father was always on the move, taking him here and there.

Ernie kept moving for what felt like over an hour before he reached a long road. His body blurred as he appeared next to the road.

Squatting down, he examined it for a bit before he saw footprints that seemed like they were just made not long ago.

There were five separate pairs, so at least five people going in the same direction.

"To follow, or not… that is the question."

Ernie started debating on following the people. Afterall, where there were people, there were also clothes, weapons and houses.

Right now, he could definitely use some clothes, a weapon could be taken at any time but he was used to fighting with his skills rather than a weapon at this point.

As for a house, Ernie wasn't even thinking about it for now. It was still early in the morning, plenty of time to find a place to stay for later.

"Forget it, let's just follow."

Ernie said as he started to go in the same direction as the owner of those footprints.

Tracking the people did not take long as Ernie caught up to them with ease. Except, when he thought he was in a spot where he couldn't be seen, he was wrong.

He let his guard down for only a moment, but someone appeared behind him.

"You've been following us for a while, what is your goal?"

Ernie quickly reacted as he put distance between him and the man.

The man had long black hair with two whisker like strings on his face.

"No goal, just looking for the next town is all. We just happened to be going in the same direction."

"Sadly I don't believe you, there have been way too many from the Itaku clan sending ninja's after us. Children are no exception. While you look different from them, one can never be too cautious."

'Itaku clan? What clan is that?'

Ernie asked himself while he stayed calm on the surface.

"Never heard of them."

The man's hand flashed as two kunai flew towards Ernie. Ernie saw them coming a long time ago when the man was making slight movements with his hands.

Ernie threw out two ice needles causing them to collide against the kunai.

Seeing Ernie being able to react to his sneak attack, the man was stunned for a moment. Usually children that were sent after him were on the weaker side but Ernie wasn't weak.

From his age, the man knew Ernie was very young. Yet, what made him surprised the most was his talent. Already having a kekkei genkai at his age.

He made a few hand signs before he brought his hand to his mouth.

"Fireball Jutsu!"

Ernie moved swiftly as he too did hand signs before he slammed his hand against the tree.

"Ice wall!"

A sheet of ice emerged from the tree blocking the fireball from touching Ernie. The ice was resistant to fire so it wasn't melting.

Behind the wall of ice, Ernie made a few more hand signs before he slammed his hand against the ice wall.

"Ice Sealing Jutsu: Ice Armor!"

Underneath the man's feet ice started to appear and crawl up his body slowly. He found himself unable to move his feet no matter how hard he tried.

Before he knew it, he found his whole body was encased in ice. The ice seemed to form some sort of armor around his body, which was thicker than his arm.

The only part of his body that was free was his head which he could barely move.

Ernie clicked his tongue as the ice wall melted and shook his head.

"You should have just let me follow you."

Seeing that cold gaze in Ernie's eyes, the man feared for his life.
