first Arrival

the section leaders for 3 other sections were messing around in the main band hall, when the flute section leader joined the small congregation. None of the other woodwind section leaders has arrived yet, this was common. The flute section leader, FSL, entered the main hall way connecting the small band hall, large band hall, and practice rooms. She entered the last practice room to the left. After turning on the lights, she pulled out her case, and assembled her instrument. She pulled out her phone and tuned messily. Then she pulled out her piccolo and fine tuned it. She played her favorite parts of last year's concert music on each respective instrument. She heard how loud the section leaders were talking in a practice room near her, and moved to peak out the door. She had pushed the door open enough to squeeze through when a the director in charge of inventory, slammed the door shut. The sudden motion caused her to drop her flute, and bump into the stand with her phone on it.
