Chapter 30

<p>Jinhee POV<br/>I stared in horror at my two besties, opening and closing my mouth like a goldfish, unable to say anything. <br/><br/>Jungkook was still on the sofa, his long legs splayed out sideways across its length. <br/><br/>He smirked, and turned to me, "Jagi, you didn't tell your best friends about us?" <br/><br/>My cheeks turned pink as I fumbled for the right words, "It's not- I didn't- Yeah, I forgot..." <br/><br/>He raised an eyebrow at me and the corner of his mouth quirked up into a half-smile. <br/><br/>"Well. Well. Well. I knew this was coming but I have to say that we didn't expect to walk in on you making out." Taehee chuckled. <br/><br/>I turned red and hid my face behind my hands, feeling embarrassed. <br/><br/>"Aw come on, Jinhee. I thought you were more...private." Hyejin cooed at the both of us sweetly. <br/><br/>Now it was Jungkook's turn to feel shy, his eyes took on a more docile look and his neck turned scarlet as he rubbed the back of his ear. <br/><br/>My mouth dropped open at his adorable display of unintentional aegyo. <br/><br/>I couldn't help myself. <br/><br/>I sat back on my heels and cupped his cheeks, pinching them slightly while crooning softly at him. <br/><br/>He stared at me, stunned and a little weirded out. <br/><br/>"What are you doing?" he and my girlfriends blurted out. <br/><br/>I ignored my friends and answered Jungkook, "You looked too cute not to admire and pamper." <br/><br/>He groaned, his face twisting unnaturally as he tried to edge away from my grabbing hands. <br/><br/>"Let go, Jinhee... My cheeks are becoming numb from your pinching." <br/><br/>I grinned cheekily and shook my head stubbornly before pecking him on the cheek. <br/><br/>Taehee squealed like an elephant and Hyejin laughed. <br/><br/>"You guys are so cute together. We'll leave now, we don't want to interrupt you two lovers. See ya soon!" Taehee said while dragging Hyejin along with her. <br/><br/>Giddily, I raised my hand and waved at them before they disappeared out the front door. <br/><br/>I looked back at Jungkook and saw that in his wide, unblinking eyes, that same passionate fire was burning slowly. <br/><br/>He lifted his mouth to mine and laid a searing kiss on my lips before removing my hands from his face. <br/><br/>He looked into my eyes and I his. <br/><br/>The dark pools of brown were somehow drawing me in dangerously, and if I wasn't careful it would suck me in like a black hole in outer space. <br/><br/>Lost in the depths of his chocolate-coloured eyes, I didn't notice the presence of a certain medium-sized ball of fur until it was too late. <br/><br/>Riptide slammed into the both of us at full speed, knocking me sideways as I slid onto the floor on my butt again. <br/><br/>Jungkook didn't do any better as his head crashed against the back of the sofa and his stomach got squashed by Riptide's foot, making him yelp.<br/><br/>Giving a long howl of excitement, my wolfdog bounded up to me and slathered my face with his saliva, huffing softly every now and then. <br/><br/>Jungkook turned his head to look at me as he clutched his abdomen and pouted pitifully. <br/><br/>I laughed loudly at his agony, for Riptide, who had grown very fast in the span of a few weeks, was not light by any means. <br/><br/>I actually think he's heavier than me, which is something. <br/><br/>I stroked Riptide's soft fur and hugged his thick shaggy neck. <br/><br/>I couldn't bear to bring him for a fur cut because his fur was too pretty to be sheared off like a sheep's wool. <br/><br/>I breathed in his wet, earthy dog smell and smiled, "Hi boy, I know, I love you too, can you please let me get up for a sec?" <br/><br/>He barked happily and licked my arm before moving away and settling himself down next to the sofa obediently. <br/><br/>For a wolfdog, Riptide is extremely gentle and willing to listen to my commands, which makes him the perfect guard in my house. <br/><br/>I never have to worry about robbers anymore, even though my family's property has always been private. <br/><br/>Oh and he loves Jungkook as well, and almost anyone who's a friend of mine. <br/><br/>I guess he is really loyal to the person he interacts with the most. <br/><br/>I rubbed his head when I walked past him into the kitchen, with Jungkook trailing behind me. <br/><br/>"What are you doing?" he asks sleepily all of a sudden. <br/><br/>I didn't answer, because I was in a good mood and looking for beer to celebrate for no reason was a gruelling job. <br/><br/>I lamented out loud when I couldn't find my beer, earning a startled gasp from my almost asleep boyfriend. <br/><br/>"My beeeer..." I whined, remembering that my parents had brought everything alcoholic from the fridge to their friend's birthday party this afternoon. <br/><br/>They even left me a note saying that they wouldn't be back tonight as they were crashing at their friend's house. <br/><br/>As for my adorable little brother Jinyoung, he wouldn't be home today because of a sleepover at his buddy's house. <br/><br/>The house was practically empty for the whole of tonight.<br/><br/>"Ugh, I wanted to drink beer today..." I mumbled to myself sadly. <br/><br/>I pouted and instead decided to just ignore my thirst for alchohol this time. <br/><br/>I grabbed Jungkook's hand and made my way upstairs, feeling weirdly high and drunk. <br/><br/>Riptide padded along next to us, giving low affectionate growls and weaving in between our legs. <br/><br/>How he managed to do that without tripping us I don't know, but it was nice to have a bodyguard at night. <br/><br/>I pushed open the door to my room and flopped onto my bed haphazardly. <br/><br/>I removed my jacket because my bed was warm and patted the space next to me for Jungkook to lie down on. <br/><br/>He stood in front of my fallen body, staring with sleep-laden eyes that I found cute. <br/><br/>"Let's sleep..." I murmured softly. <br/><br/>Riptide apparently thought I was talking to him, and jumped up onto my bed, curling up comfortably near the bed post and falling asleep immediately. <br/><br/>I chuckled at my pet's antics, and groaned, yanking Jungkook's hand towards me so that he would lie down and sleep as well. <br/><br/>I sighed contentedly when I felt the mattress dip under his weight next to me, slipping my free arm over his bulky, well-muscled body. <br/><br/>"Good night Kookie, I love you." I whispered. <br/><br/>I got no reply, so I thought he must be asleep already, but a few seconds later, I heard his raspy voice, "I love you too Jinhee, so much more than you know." <br/><br/>I was losing my consciousness by the second, so the last thing I felt before drifting off was Jungkook's lips pressing on my forehead and his strong, powerful arms wrapping around my smaller body.</p>
