Chapter 64: Golden Shadow, curtain and rain

The leaders of Avengers were surprised to see Kevin in his normal clothes, he hadn't visited in a long time and when he finally came, he came in civilian clothing.

"Superman, we might have a mission for you."Black widow said, but she couldn't finish as Kevin cut her off.

"No need, I'm not here as Superman, but as Kevin." He said with a smile.

The people in the room looked at him, waiting for him to explain what his business was about.

"I'm hanging the suit, it's time for me to retire." Kevin said, happy with his choice.

"What?! Why? Superman, the darkness of the world doesn't take a rest nor does it retire so how could the light of the world do so?" Bruce Banner reacted first.

Even though not many people knew, Superman and Bruce had become good friends, to the point that Kevin had heaven advised Bruce on Hulk matters making Bruce realise things about himself that he never had thought about. As such, Kevin had become someone very important to his development as a person.

"Superman, I agree, the world still needs you." Black widow spoke her mind.

"Call me Kevin, and you're wrong, I've noticed that the avengers have grown into something fantastic, Entrust the safety of the world.tomypu guys." Kevin said to his friends.

After speaking for an hour they finally said their goodbyes.

And as Kevin was on his way out, Dr. strange stopped in front of him.

"You might be done with Superman, but Superman might not be done with you, remember the countless dimensions you destroyed... I fear that... It's just a gut feeling but I think someone is after you." Dr. strange said with genuine worry about Kevin.

Kevin smiled and put one of his hands on Dr. s

Strange shoulder.

"Then I'll seek your help alongside the Avengers." He simply said as he continues to walk out.

A few more months passed by and the world saw the birth of Kara Collins, a beautiful child with dark brown hair and blue eyes. She looked like a mix between Kevin and Laura, very cute.

"See, didn't I tell you, even our granddaughter would disappoint us, she isn't green either." Papa bear sighed as he lovingly held his granddaughter.

"Awwww isn't she the cutest! But you're right Papa bear, she isn't green. But this isn't on her, it's her parents fault." Mama bear said as she gave Laura and Kevin the stinky eye.

As they were enjoying their time together a voice resonated throughout the skies.

"You are not alone." The voice resonated throughout the planet.

Kevin isntanly.arrived outside to see a gigantic face covering the sky, but the odd thing is that everyone on the globe saw it as if it was right above them.

"Amongst you, an error is walking. A being that isn't supposed to be there. Amongst you walks a being that has brought chaos to the world. He is known as 'Superman'. He might seem like a source of light, but he is someone that brings destruction. On the behalf of the EXISTING, I shall eradicate him, no matter the cost. Superman, if you hear this arrive outside of your atmosphere if you don't want your universe to be eradicated alongside you, you have one minute." The face said as it disappeared.

His family and Laura arrived outside looking very worried.

"Who is he, what does he want you?" Laura asked.

Kevin didn't answer, he felt like this being was the strongest he had encountered so far.

Kevin turned toward Kara in Laura's arms and walked towards them.

'Tyrone, I have a bad gut feeling, I think it's time for us to part, please take care of my daughter.' Kevin thought.

'Father, don't leave me behind, let me go with you, let me fight beside you once again.' Tyrone communicated back.

'Tyrone, this person is the strongest I've met, if you go with me, I might survive but you might not, so take care of Kara as if she's your real sister.' Kevin responded. as he bent down and gave Kara a kiss on the forehead.

As his lips parted from Kara's forehead, a black slime went inside of Kara unnoticed by anyone else but Kevin. He turned towards his family.

"Don't worry too much, I'll come back to you soon!" Kevin said as he saw the worry on their faces.

Not only them, but everyone felt it, this being was something else. They felt like small beings standing before a natural catastrophe, a force of nature.

Every single being felt it in their cells, this was above anything they could imagine.

Kevin arrived in space, outside the atmosphere, where he found a shadow made of gold waiting for him.

"They are something else huh" the shadow said. Even though they were in space, the shadow was capable of speaking.

Superman turned around and saw that the whole planet was in uproar for his sake. They wanted to go to war with the face in the sky for daring to challenge him.

Superman felt his chest warm up. As he smiled he looked towards the shadow in askance.

"No, I'm not a celestial. I'm something else. I'm not the God either, rather, I'm the accumulated will of all potential existence. and you're an irregular, and error of the world that needs to be fixed. I wouldn't have noticed you, had it not been for you destroying the dimensions as if breaking glass." The shadow spoke.

Superman suddenly found himself with the ability to speak.

"How?" Kevin uttered only that word.

"I can create laws, as simple as that. Superman if we fight, everyone you've ever loved will die, so how about a challenge of life and death?" The shadow spoke.

"Before you ask, we will go into a mirror dimension that I made especially for this case. and we'll be put under extreme pressure that keeps building up until one of us dies. single that kind of fight will not lead to the destruction of the known continuity."

The shadow suggested.

"Can we not fight?" Kevin asked

"No, since I came to know about you, my sole purpose was to erase you."

"I see" Kevin said as he looked at the blue planet.

"Follow me when you're ready." The shadow said as he flew through a see through space curtain that had appeared.

Kevin looked down at earth, and felt like the fight was inevitable. He then turned towards the curtain and flew through it.
