Beaten

Leaning his face closer to Oh Miyeon, he added, "And you are fine with getting beaten up? Oh Miyeon, are you even a girl at the first place? Even a man would not be alright with getting beaten up. Are you that drunk now?"

"What you are doing right now is gender discrimination? It's not like I want to marry a shallow man," she spoke out, "So, it's alright. But as you say, Bohyun is at the peak of her career now, and although she is quite foolish, she would not take reckless actions."

"That's why, come and live with me," Minjae suggested, "It's not like a big deal if you stay over at my place or yours. The security will be better there as well. Just hide at my apartment for couple of days."

"That's not the big deal," she said, "I don't want to get in trouble with your countless women. That just creeps me out."

Hearing her words caused Lee Minjae to let out a groan, and he voiced out, "What type of man do you take me to be? I don't bring everybody to my apartment. Only special people can visit."

"Still I would have to decline, Minjae. This is not a matter of a day or two, and since I have provoked Bohyun, I will just deal with her. She won't go that serious on me for just attending a party with you.

You do this regularly. Thank you for the offer. I know that you are looking out for me, but I can't accept it," Miyeon courteously stated.

Oh Miyeon would have instantly accepted Minjae's offer if it was not for the trouble it might bring along with it. Miyeon had an idea that this would not be as simple as staying at his apartment for a couple of days.

She will exposed to the part of the society she was fearful of, and although Minjae would try to protect her, this would turn her life to be more complicated.

Oh Miyeon acted on impulse and provoked Bohyun. Thinking back to it, although she did not regret it, it was not a smart decision from her part.

"Oh Miyeon, I don't know what you are thinking," Minjae spoke out, "But you can't completely change from how you were in the past, and maybe how you were in the past was not as bad as you take it to be."

"I am just too exhausted, Minjae. Let's not talk about it," Miyeon vocalised, taking a shot out of the glass before her.

Lee Minjae noticed how the air around Oh Miyeon had gotten gloomier, and he let out a sigh at that. At that instant, he desired to wipe away all of the sadness that weighed her down.

Curving his lips to form a wide smile upon his face, Lee Minjae raised the glass in his hand and exclaimed, "Oh Miyeon, let's drink away all the pains today, alright?"

"As if I can do that. I have to draw my manuscript tomorrow," Miyeon said as a groan escaped from her mouth.
