When one achieves the Nascent Element Realm, he could absorb one external element core, the same could be said to every big realm breakthrough. But not all people could absorb the external elemental core, if he/she were to false to absorb the element core then he/she would be stuck at the Nascent Element Realm for the rest of their life, unless he/she could find a certain pill called Elemental Core Restoring Pill could they restore their elemental core to its original state again then they could try to absorb the external elemental core once again.
If one wants to achieve the immortal stage, then they need to have at least five elemental cores inside their body, so for the people who are born with only one element then their limit is only the Immortal Foundation realm and the possibility is only 40 percent, that's why all the mortals take the matter regarding about elemental cores seriously, if they have more elements then their possibility of achieving the higher stage will become higher and easier.
For a person like Zhang Shensu, he could achieve Immortal Venerable realm or Immortal Sovereign realm, that is also of course depend on his hand working and comprehension toward the necessary requirements such as Laws, Concepts, Soul and more. In fact, the rare elements also have a huge advantage toward cultivation, normally most people are only born with one basic element and when they achieve further level of cultivation they could only absorb the other basic external elemental cores, so for people who are born with rare elemental core, it made their cultivation became easier and the possibility of absorbing the external elemental core when achieving the Nascent Element Realm will become higher.
So if one person is born with a rare element then his/her achievement in cultivation is equal to a person born with two basic elements.
Then if one person is born with all rare elements it would make his achievement regarding cultivation become unimaginable, the possibility of becoming a god will rise to 90 percent.
However, there is an ancient scroll said that there is one more type of person that would be born just to defy the heaven, that person would be born will all kind of elements including the rare elements, the legend had given the name that kind of person called Supreme Divine Elemental Child, he would be born with only one elemental core and that core is the Divine Elemental Core, the owner doesn't to have five cores to be able to breakthrough to the Immortal realm, he could just cultivate like normal people would do and the possibility of achieving the apex of all beings is 100 percent.
