The Birth of the Fated
24th of April in the Lu household, the sound of a baby crying broke the silence of the night. It was a warm night and the woman lying down in the bed was sweating madly. With all the aides surrounding her, a man beside her didn't let them touch the woman and personally wiped the woman's sweat on her forehead.
"It's done. You did great.." The man whispered into the woman's ear and gently kissed her forehead.
"It's a healthy young boy! Congratulations!" One of the aides has the baby boy and gently placed it in his mother's arms.
Seeing the boy in her arms, the woman couldn't help but laugh and kissed the boy on his forehead. The pain and all the hardships she went through was all forgotten as she looked into this beautiful creature in her arms. She was very very tired but all was worth it. She has a husband who greatly loves her and now she also has this beautiful creature who she knew that they would love and cherish forever.
"Lu Shan. He shall be named Lu Shan.."
The man, excited for his parents to see his son, took out his phone and dialed his parents. Within minutes after the call, the grandparents of the child came crashing down the hallway and hurriedly went inside the room.
When they saw their grandson silently sleeping in his mother's arms, they all sighed happily and went near the woman slowly.
"Congratulations, you gifted us this healthy, handsome, young boy." The grandmother greeted the woman warmly and hugged her tight.
"My grandson! How could there be a beautiful creature like you! You're just like your grandfather!" The man's dad heartily laughed and tapped his son's back.
"You did great son. What technique did you use to produce a beatiful boy like that huh?" He asked his son as he watched his son's cheek turn redder and redder.
"Dad!"
The night passed joyfully in the Lu household but in the other side of the town, tragedy began to fall in the Qi household.
"It's a girl! Congratulations!" Everyone was overjoyed by this news. In a household full of men, it's a miracle that someone finally managed to give birth to a girl.
Everyone was concentrated on this beautiful baby girl that they haven't realized that the woman lying on the bed has her eyes closed and her breathing was slowly fading away.
With all the joy that's happening, a man went over to hug the woman but realized that something isn't right. He started calling her name.
"Qi Xiu.. wake up.." The man croaked as he lightly slapped the woman's cheek.
"Qi Xiu.. we have a beautiful baby girl. You still haven't seen her yet. Wake up.." This time, the surrounding went quiet as they watched the man hygging the woman and continously calling her name.
The man continued to call her, shaking her, and pleading the woman to open her eyes but the woman's eyes never opened again.
"Please, wake up. Qi Xiu.. No, don't leave me.. Qi Xiu, I beg you..."
The night was extremely silent and the only thing that could be heard is the man's pleading for his wife to return and the man's crying over his wife who'll never have the chance to be with her family again.
After a long time of crying in pain over his lost wife, one of he aides silently walked towards the man and handed him the beautiful baby girl that his wife left behind.
Seeing the baby sleeping soundly, the man wiped his tears and took the little girl in his hands. With a shushed voice, he said...
"You shall be named Qi Xia. Qi Xia is the name your mother wanted for you. Isn't it beautiful?"
The man caressed his daughter's cheek and stared at her lovingly.
"Qi Xia, unfortunately mother has gone to a vacation and can't see you grow into a beautiful young lady.." At this time, the baby stirred and began crying as if she understood what her father just said.
Startled, the man began rocking the baby girl in his arms and quietly said..
"Shh... Shh.. Don't cry. Don't cry. Father's here and will never leave your side okay? Mother is also watching you from above, so don't cry anymore."
With all the soothing words that the man said, the baby quieted down and slept soundly for the night...
