Chapter 14

Edited by: Mystic

After a few attempts at tracking down a spirit beast that Ai could find. Wang finally came across a lone Sky Wolf that was two levels below Ai's rank, though it would be more than a challenge for a little fox that hadn't fought with another predator before.

Normally one would fight a spirit beast closer to their own rank to consolidate their new rank. But Ai had only fought those beasts in the village from before. They were all weak spirit beasts that didn't' really fight back with the desire to kill.

Thus Wang wanted him to get used to fighting actual threats before allowing him to fight Beasts closer to his level.

Thus began Ai's harsh training. He found himself often fleeing for his life as he fought beast after beast in the lower levels. His heart thudded each time the other beasts lunged at him with the intent on killing him. Ah, not as fun to fight as those little fluff balls from before!

Wang would often have to step in and help him when Ai was at his last leg. Then they'd need time to heal his injuries.

In all, it took Ai well over two months to finally be able to fight on a better footing than before. He was faster as well as stronger in his swipes and now he was able to easily take on the Sky wolf he'd fled from time and time again.

When Ai managed to kill the other beast finally. He let out a humpf as he proudly stood over it and looked at Wang with a look of pride. He clearly wanted praise ah!

Wang laughed as he went over and kept the beast's body for later use. Then he patted Ai's head as he lowered himself. "Good, Now you are much more stable in your foundation and can take the final leap to become A Spirit King!" he said pleased.

With that said, Wang led Ai back to the cave they'd made their little home so that he could start cultivating again.

While he worked on his consolidation, Ai would also keep up with his cultivation. He was now well rounded and stable. There would be no later issues ah! How wonderful!

Once he was situated and Wang went out to guard the cave, Ai began to meditate again, the same situation as before repeating as he drew in the colored orbs into the spot between his brows. It took much longer than the last time before he finally broke through.

This time, however, not only did he feel the same lightness and strength, but he had a wash of freshness flush through him. He felt as if he were reborn again!

What more, his body again began to shift, becoming more elegant and graceful. His fur softened even more as his body's impurities seemed to burn up within his body. Thankfully it wasn't as horrible as the pill, and he wasn't covered in filth.

When he was sure that his spirit was calm again, Ai felt his soul before heading out to find Wang. This time his body didn't grow in size, so he stayed in his smaller form so he could jump onto Wang's shoulder and nudge him.

Wang seemed to be sleeping, his eyes closed as he had waited. The light nudges made him open his eyes as he smiled and reached up to pet Ai. "Good good, Now you can take the pill ah!" he said with a pleased look.

Ai nuzzled into the other's neck, getting comfy. "Does this mean we'll be leaving the peak?" he asked.

Wang thought for a moment. "Well, we need to go get the pill. I hadn't managed to obtain it yet, since I rushed over to you before I was ready," he said as he waved his hand. "So we'll need to go find the stuff for it, or buy one," he said.

Ai pouted as he glared at Wang's cheek. "It's not my fault. hmph," he huffed.

He wasn't sure why, but Wang enjoyed teasing him whenever they found something they needed that he didn't have. The guy enjoyed rubbing it in that he was dragged away from his own issues to save Ai.

In the End, Ai gave up and just gave a small lick to Wang's cheek as if admitting he was wrong. Wang smiled before giving a pleased nod.

With that the two headed off, going towards the base of the Peak. Unknown to the two, there would be trouble waiting for them at the bottom.

The young son of the Sect's Lord had gone and informed his father that there was a man at the Peak that was rude and had needed to be taught a lesson. Plus with the fact that the lord of the South had changed, He told his father that he should go take it over since the new lord didn't seem to respect their sect to come and formally meet him.

The Sect's Master nodded before setting up a plan and heading to the base of the peak to await the mystery man, First, he'd settle this issue before going to look for the new lord of this region to get some answers.

Neither father nor son thought the man would be the one that had taken over the South, thus they weren't too worried about offending him ah!

If anything, they'd just inform the new lord that the man was just going around claiming false lies about himself, clearly, the new lord wouldn't enjoy that yeah? So this was as if they were doing him a favor see?

They were to be in a great amount of regret once the truth came to light ah!
