This should be obvious, but don't mess with your meds. This is especially the case for meds concerning psychological or life threatening issues. I actually have examples for both. One that was also fatal.
I know a guy who's on meds due to psychological issues who was on the track of recovery. After he changed doctors, his new doctor directly prescribed him different meds and it's affected him to the point where he might drop out of university.
The situation is definitely a bit tricky and there just isn't a perfect solution for it.
There was also this other person I indirectly knew. A long while back he fell into a coma and was prescribed meds afterwards. Under the impression that his body was still young and in great condition, he stopped taking those meds without receiving actual medical advice. Not even a few days passed and....
