30 Secrets Are Not Forever

The next day, Ji An asked Alice to take Sofia for a walk, she really wanted to talk to Eric alone regarding her thoughts from last night. Alice agreed and after 10 minutes she was gone with Sofia. After they left, Ji An went back to their room and saw Eric just woke up. "Hey gorgeous, good morning!" Eric greeted her with his hoarse voice before he stood up and kissed Ji An on her forehead. He was happy and completely satisfied with their bedroom activity last night. Finally, he had his wife.

Ji An, on the other hand, doesn't reciprocate his feelings, she shut her eyes and hugged Eric, "Eric... I need to ask you something." Her voice was casual and calm, there was no hint of anger or doubts.

He made a comment about her hair first as he smelt it, "Your shampoo suits you." and then asked her, "What is it you want to ask me?"

Ji An gathered all her courage but still shyly asked her husband, "Remember the night you brought me to that hotel room...?" she paused a little, "How did we do it?"

Her question caught Eric off guard, he never expected that question from Ji An, he thought she would never ask him and he doesn't know what to say, he was not prepared for this especially now that he just woke up and his brain was only half awake, "Well... we... I..... why are you asking me this suddenly?" His voice was a little confused and he was wondering why she is asking this question now? Why not before, when he took all the blame and responsibility?

"Nothing, I just want to know." She looked and smiled at him as they hugged each other tenderly.

"Well, we did it in bed obviously." he chuckled as he stroked her hair gently, "When we... I... finished..." he was struggling to explain because he really doesn't know what to tell her, "I meant after we did it, I left." He was not quite sure what on earth he was talking about. He wasn't ready for this question at all.

"Did you perhaps... left something?" She's trying to imply that he left her with kiss marks.

"No, I didn't. Well, I don't think so, otherwise, you would have known it's me if I did, right?" He then fixed the strand of hair in her face and brushed her face with the back of his hand.

"Did you kissed me hard? Or did you left me kiss marks or bite marks? Things like that?" She couldn't hold it anymore and she has to be more specific to get some answers. She leaned her head on Eric's chest after she asked.

He stroked her hair and with his sweet voice, he answered her, "I will never mark you, my love. I will never hurt you. Why do you ask anyway?"

Ji An was shocked and couldn't utter a word, she let go from his arms and stared at him. She couldn't believe what she just heard. 'Then... he is not... Sofia's father!' she was not quite sure how to react at that moment. It felt like she was hit by lightning and stroked her heart deeply. He lied to her and now he was caught and she was devastated.

"Why Eric?" That was the first word to come out from her mouth while she looked at him. Her voice was somehow calm but felt like the storm was brewing under it. It's like she was just preparing to lash out at him any moment.

"What do you mean why?" He confusedly asked as he looked at her. His brows furrowed and his voice was surprised.

After a moment of her calmness, she came back to her senses and realised what her husband did. She then started to scream in anger and went to slap his face and started to punch his chest repeatedly, "Why did you do it? Why did you marry me? Why did you lie? Why Eric? Just why?" She started crying and sobbing as she punched his chest while asking him questions one after the other.

Alice entered the house to get her purse as she forgot it and heard Ji An crying and screaming. She left Sofia on her high chair with a toy and moved closer to listen to them.

"What is wrong Ji An? What do you mean I lied?" He asked as he tried to constrain her arms that was hitting him everywhere and tried to hug her so she can't hit him anymore. He was curious why she suddenly went ballistic and started to attack him.

'Are they fighting? What is it about?' Alice put her ear to the door so she can hear more and find out what was going on with them.

"Don't you dare lie to me again." She pushed him hard to release herself from him, "Don't touch me! You didn't sleep with me then! You weren't there were you? You are not Sofia's father!" She continued to scream on top of her lungs. "It wasn't you!" Her tears flowed as she released her anger at him.

Eric didn't expect that he will be caught by her, they haven't been married for a year and now their marriage is hanging on a thread. But in his mind, it's okay because they already married twice and they have Sofia and she's under his name. In his head, he was confident that Ji An will not ask for a divorce because of their circumstances plus it would be better for them to stay together and just come to an agreement or something.

His voice was calm, he knew that he must remain calm and just be patient with her, "So what if it wasn't me? I am Sofia's father and she is my daughter. I took responsibility because I love y—"

"Don't you dare say you love me! You lied to me!" She pointed her finger at him, "You took the opportunity! You took advantage of my situation! You are very selfish Eric!" She wiped her tears that were flowing in her face, "You didn't consider how I'd feel! You probably thought you got away with your lies, aren't you?" She was really mad at him. This was the first time Ji An felt so fired up and angry like this. She can't forgive him no matter what for what he'd done.

"Why are you being like this. Don't you love me?" Eric asked with furrowed brows, it will be really hard for him to accept if she says that she doesn't love him.

Ji An doesn't know how to reply to his question, she felt like she lost all her energy and got drained. She slumped on the floor and her mind went blank after his question but she has a lot of things to say and ask but she just doesn't know where or how to start. In the end, she managed to find the words to reply to his question. "I want a divorce!" She uttered lifelessly.

What she said made Eric mad, "What divorce? Never!" He opened the door and left in a hurry. He ignored Alice and walk out the door.

Alice went in and saw Ji An on the floor. "What's going on? Did he hurt you? Why did you fight?" She was so concerned because of her current state and the way her brother left. They must have fought really bad for divorce to come up on their conversation.

Ji An cried as Alice hugged her. "Alice... it wasn't him! He is not Sofia's father!" She cried like a child in Alice's arms.

Alice got surprised by her revelation, "What do you mean? He married you because....." she stopped, 'so he lied to us so he can have you because that was the only way he can have you?' She hugged Ji An to comfort her as that was the only thing she could do for her at that moment.

"What am I going to do? Why is this world so unfair to me? Why do people I love and care about have to treat me this way?" Ji An was really upset and heartbroken.
