"Oh sh*t!"
Kilian shouted as he fell from god knows where. He felt the air whip past him and the scariest part was that he had no parachute.
He had his fair share of skydiving, especially on missions and had scaled skyscrapers without one, but never had he dared jump off anything aerial from this high above.
Perhaps that voice was planning something?
If so, he should take this opportunity. He squinted his eyes and looked around. For miles he saw nothing but a lush forest and mountains, and a trace of some ruins and plains further away. He caught a glimpse of some worn towers not too far just before he crashed into a tree.
His body smacked and broke every branch around him as he fell on hard grass and made him forcefully cough out large grunts.
He clicked his tongue in pain and held his abdomen but then realized that the pain began to diminish quickly.
Kilian slowly forced himself to his feet with a grimace and leaned against the tree and looked around.
The forest was darker down here from up there, but he still had his memory of those little buildings in the horizon. He didn't just yet walk towards them but scanned his vicinity.
He looked down to his body in confusion. That fall should've broken something big but it simply felt like someone socking him in the chest and stomach.
Another thing he saw was that he was naked. And his body looked a lot different than usual.
Yes he was old, but his body was in better shape than one would expect. Instead of his rough skin and multiple scars, it was replaced by smooth and bright skin, flawless without any markings.
He stretched out his arms and saw compact muscles and could easily spot the vigor of youth. He could even feel it.
Was he young again?
"At least I wasn't dropped with my rickety old bones heheh."
As if the fall didn't happen, Kilian dashed around the area, performing leaps and flips off anything he landed on. He did summersaults and running off trees like a ninja and not before long, came to stop in front of a small cliff which lead to a field.
The grass was tall and just beyond he could spot mountains and a river crossing between them, but he had no time to enjoy the scenery.
Kilian turned back and ran the way he came from and found himself under the tree he fell under.
He did a few small jumps with a smile, "Not even tired after that." He didn't even break a sweat, compared to his old self which had to be careful about moving too fast.
[Of course you aren't, Kilian. This new body of yours was constructed using the God Fibers of the universe.]
Startled, Kilian pounced back like a nimble cat and looked around, "Whose there?"
He saw nobody, neither could he feel the presence of anyone.
[Calm down, didn't Mars introduce me to you beforehand?]
"Mars?" Kilian hasn't met anyone just before or after his death named Mars, or could the voice be talking about the person back at the abyss?
[Mars, the God of this universe. I see he hasn't. Since we're going to be together for the rest of the days you're alive, I suppose we should get to know eachother.]
Kilian grasped the idea of recieving a sort of guide or partner through this ordeal, but he still kept his guard up.
"Very well, since you know my name, Kilian Hannes, a previously damned soul, may I know yours?" He calmly asked.
[I am one of Mars' five Seraphim, Kalicsus, you may address me as Kal.]
"Seraphim, huh? Are you my happy helper for this trip?"
[Yes and no.]
"Elaborate please."
[I am your guide in this lifetime, but I'm also here to monitor you and make sure certain things stay in order. In truth, Mars has sent some other seraphs into this world with partners like you and to rank us among eachother, something like kill-to-win.]
Kilian raised a brow at this. A competition? There are better ways to go about this.
[Indeed, there are better ways. There has been a competition of strength between the seraphim...and I'd frankly like to see how I would fare in this battle. But this is about you, not us seraphs.]
"Alright, nothing's wrong with that. But did you just read my mind?"
[Of course, I dwell inside your mind. We are one.]
Kilian sighed. This is some magic right here, but he did think it was kind of cool.
[Thank you, Kilian, but we should get you some clothes.]
Kilian looked down and just remembered he was standing around butt naked. He wondered how he didn't feel the breeze down there.
He looked around and saw some vines and leaves, the mess he made from his crash landing. He began making himself a makeshift skirt. It was comical but it'll do for now. He'll have to hunt for the animal skins soon.
"Hey Kal? What was it that you mentioned about God Fiber or something?" Kilian asked, grabbing a rock and going to hunt for food, which was one of his priorities for surviving in the wild. Maybe the plains from earlier could help.
[God Fiber is the very object which constructs this universe. I've specifically searched for some of the stronger God Fibers to aid in the creation of your body, making it very durable and a good storage and conductor of magic.]
"Since I've got a gain, I'm sure the other seraphim gave their partners something to work with too?" Kilian would see it as a pain in the arse if they come at him weilding God-slaying swords or something.
[I may have cheated just a little, but our gain isn't something big, just a tad bit better than the others.]
Kilian sighed in relief. But he still should keep his guard up.
"Also magic, I can use magic?"
[Yes you can, I'll impart some knowledge onto you, maybe during our fight with this creature.]
"Creature?" As soon as the question left his mouth, Kilian sensed battle intent locked onto him just a few meters ahead. It was faint, but he saw glowing purple eyes hidden away in the bushes.
