Tears and Words

Xing, sitting in her carriage on her way to the Inn, couldn't help but felt her heartbeat racing out of excitement. There were many times she and Chenglei have stayed apart in the past and each time it was due to unavoidable circumstances and due to the gods' interference. This was the first time they've been apart for this long because of a fight.

Xing wondered how she'd react after meeting Chenglei after long and how she should start the conversation. She was pondering about Chenglei's reaction after she gets there too.

But when she sneaked a look at him through the curtains, she was touched by the pitiful way he looked and she felt bad for him.

Guess he is stressed about this meeting as much as I do too.

When she got out of the carriage, he held out his hand for her but as she was holding the baby she couldn't give her hand and she could see the surprise in his eyes and it made her a bit aware of the situation she is in.
