When Liu Zijian entered the study, he immediately called his father.
"Dad, let's just be thankful that Big Zi's safe."
"I see." Mr. Liu understood that his son didn't want to continue looking for the person who helped Han Meixiu and Liu Zilong.
When the call ended, he slumped on his chair. He would be lying if he's not affected with what Han Meixiu did. It seemed that her level of trust to him wasn't as high as he expected it to be.
Although he has ways on how to confirm his doubts that the man was Han Yun Xiang, he's not planning on using it to her. He would wait until the time she could openly tell him everything.
Her answer was pretty much a give away anyway so his conclusion was somewhat 95% correct.

She went to bed earlier than Liu Zijian last night. After their short conversation when she interrupted him, they didn't talk much. She felt guilty about it thus she planned to wait for him in their room to apologize but she fell asleep sooner than she expected.
When she woke up, she was still alone in the room. She thought Liu Zijian didn't sleep but on his side of the bed, there's a sign that someone lied down. As she was about to went out of the room, she heard the main door opened.
She thought Liu Zijian was leaving without informing her thus she hurriedly went out and called him.
"Zijian!"
Her voice was quite loud since it was early in the morning.
She then saw that Liu Zijian just came back from outside.
He questioningly looked at her as if asking why did she called him in panic.
"Something wrong?" He just came back from the hospital to get her things. He didn't wake her up since she was sleeping so peacefully and he couldn't afford to disturb her.
"I...thought you're leaving and you didn't inform me..." She answered and lowered her head.
"I just got your things from the hospital. They were returned yesterday." He calmly explained. He didn't notice how his mood improved after he heard his wife's answer.
She was worried of him leaving her? Why would he do that?
He then gave her the box he was carrying.
"Oh, thank you." She said as she accepted it and placed it on the table without opening.
"I'll prepare breakfast." She immediately said to compensate what she did last night. She remembered he liked buns thus she rummaged their stocks in the kitchen. The first thing she checked was the expiration date, when she confirmed they're still good she looked at Liu Zijian.
"Please wait a while. I'll get them done in a short while. You can go to your study first then I'll call you when it's time." She said and busied herself.
He simply nodded and followed her suggestion. He was actually looking forward to the breakfast she would prepare.
After almost an hour she called him.
"Breakfast is ready." She smilingly said.
Liu Zijian slowly followed her and when he saw what's on the table he was surprised. He didn't know that buns could also be prepared for breakfast. His normal breakfast was toast and not buns.
As he sat down, Han Meixiu began describing what she prepared. There was a bun glazed with cinnamon and honey and the other set were stuffed with bacon, cheese and egg.
For almost an hour she was able to prepare these two. It was harder than she originally thought. Though she burnt some as she wasn't familiar with the oven in the kitchen, she was able to make decent cinnamon and honey buns. Since she was afraid she might burn all, she opt to make a safer option which was to just stuff bacon, cheese and egg inside the buns, just like a normal burger.
When Liu Zijian started to eat the one with bacon and cheese, Han Meixiu spoke.
"Brother Long told me you like buns. Next time I will prepare healthier ones..."
"I like buns?" He asked again thinking he misheard her. When did he like buns? Liu Zilong clearly knew he didn't have much preference when it comes to food. Was he fooling around, again?
"You don't?" Han Meixiu became confused and started to feel dejected. Did her brother Long lie?
Seeing the reaction on Han Meixiu's face and the proof of her effort clearly visible because of the state of the kitchen, Liu Zijian didn't have the heart to further disappoint her.
"Yes, I do." He simply answered and continued to eat.
But Han Meixiu felt he was just forcing himself. Even though she wanted to voice out her thoughts, she opted not to. She instead made her voice lively to conceal her disappointment.
"Try this one with cinnamon and honey. The sweetness is just right and they're soft." She said and gave him a piece.
For some reason Liu Zijian suddenly coughed. The word soft, triggered something in his memory.
Now he understood. That brother of his was indeed fooling around as he suspected.
"Are you okay?" She worriedly asked. She thought that maybe a piece of an egg shell was accidentally mixed in the food causing him to choke.
"I'm fine." He answered. He then seriously looked at her and said, "What I like are different kind of buns."
She didn't know but his gaze made her blush and she felt a little weird. It was like there's something burning in his eyes. "I'll..buy another kind then..." She answered awkwardly.
"No need." He simply answered maintaining the intensity of his stare.
Han Meixiu's uneasiness started to escalate. She didn't want to look at him again thus she focused on eating though she couldn't taste anything anymore.
After they finished their breakfast they started to prepare as they would leave for the shooting range. The nearest would be about half an hour travel if the road would not be congested.
When Han Meixiu was arranging her things in their room Liu Zijian hugged her from the back. She wasn't expecting it thus she was startled for a bit but didn't resist.
As his hands slowly moved from her waist up, she heard him whispered in her ear.
"These are the buns." He said as those naughty hands stopped on their destination.
'F**k!' She cursed in her mind.
