Chapter 12

Alvin's P.O.V

Once I reached the pack house, I was informed that there were rogues trespassing onto pack territory earlier, and there was an attack against a nearby pack name Shadow Claw, after their alpha made a call to my dad and got his approval, his family and the survivors are moving over for shelter for the time being before things die down and they are able to move back again. I made my way to the training area and called for a meeting. "Fighters and trackers, there will be a pack meeting in 15 minutes." I took this time while they went to wash up to go to the meeting room first to settle down. Even though I am not the alpha yet but while my dad is away, the alpha's position is temporarily in my care, my dad wishes for me to take over but I didn't want to and he can't do anything about it as I can be as stubborn as a bull.

15 minutes went past as quick as a breeze and every fighter and tracker that was training early was already gathered in the room, all that was missing was the 2 most important people that I trust. My beta and my 3rd in command. . . I sighed and when I was about to mindlink them to rush them, 2 guys came crashing through the door, one was holding a Macdonald's ice cream and seems to be enjoying it while the other was dragging the first guy by the collar. After looking clearer, I realized that the 2 guys are Ricky and Ryder, at this moment I felt the need to reflect on whether I need a new beta and 3rd in command or not.

"Glad to have you both joining us, I'm amazed by your earliness." I shot them with sarcasm laced in my tone.

"I swear, it wasn't me, it was all because of this dumbass that wanted ice cream. He started hugging onto the pole near Macdonald's and would not let go unless I got him ice cream." Ricky was clearly annoyed by Ryder. On the other hand, Ryder seems to be oblivious of anything that was going on around him and simply continued licking his ice cream.

"Ryder stop with the ice cream, everyone is waiting for you." He took a break from his ice cream and looked up at me with a look of devastation, I looked at him then towards the rest of the pack members who are currently in the meeting room, hoping that it will give him a hint. During that short period when his and my eyes made contact, we had this sort of 'short girl moment' where we did not have to talk and we sort of know what the other is thinking.

Within the next minute, Ryder did something that is disappointing but not surprising. He gobbled up the ice cream in 1 mouth and pretended that the ice cream never existed, he plopped himself down on the right seat beside me and made himself comfortable while Ricky sat on my left. "Let's start the meeting. Kain, please give us a short summary of the report about the rogue attacks." I instructed the leader of the trackers to explain what has been happening.

A tall and burly guy stood up and started feeding us information."There has been a bunch of rogues that started causing trouble with the neighboring packs and are slowly getting more and more overbearing recently, and now they are beginning to attack, it seems like someone is backing them, in the past they had never tried to cross the boundaries or even cause trouble anywhere near any of packs territory. 2 packs in this area have already even eliminated and all that is left is everyone here" Taking in all that information, I started to formulate a plan in my head on figuring a way on how I can improve the security as well as safety for the pack members especially, for the women and the kids.

"Ryder, increase the training from 3 hours to 5, I expect those who are able to take part to train. Kain, you will come to my dad's office later on and we can discuss on a new border inspection route again, as for Ricky, you will be leading the pack doctors on helping the injured survivors from the Shadow Claw pack, please help prepare guest rooms as well as the facilities for their temporary stay." Once I am done dishing out orders, I was about to end the meeting that was when I remembered the scene earlier with Emily and some of the pack members.

"Before everyone leaves, I have an announcement to make, I found my mate, I am sure some of you know this by now as we were interrupted and she was half scared to death, so I hope there will be no such incidents happening ever again. We have to make sure the territory is safe so she won't get hurt when she is around. Alright, that is all, everyone is dismissed." One by one, everyone slowly stood up and did a slight bow before making their way out of the meeting room and went off to do the things I have instructed. Once everyone left I got up and went back to my room, currently, the only thing running through my mind is Emily. I started musing over everything that happened earlier, her soft skin and the warmth radiating off her, my mind started wandering off to a place where I know it should not be as I felt myself getting aroused and something down south was starting to be in need of a cold shower, I couldn't stand it any longer and rushed off to the bathroom.

Kelly's P.O.V

"The mission is done, I will be moving on to the next target, Kaylin is on the way back with the information you want," I reported in a respectful tone.

A coarse and deep voice can be heard through the phone "Good job, move on to the next target, if you do not get the job done well. . . " there was a slight pause between before he continued, "You know the consequences. I will be waiting for the good news." The line went dead as I was subconsciously stabbing my nails into the of my fist. I wonder when will this ever end. . .

Emily's P.O.V

After such a long day out, I felt severely drained of energy, the first thing I did once I was back in my comfort zone was to crash on my bed. "I need a vacation twice a year and 6 months per vacay." I groaned inwardly to myself. Spotting the mission file I left laying at the corner of my bed, I picked it up with the intention of looking through it. As I flipped it open, the image that I saw left me lost for words. . . After looking at the picture clearer once more then I realized that my eyes weren't playing any tricks on me, it was Alvin. That was when everything in my mind clicked, the reason why he looked so familiar is because he is the guy in the file, the one that I am supposed to kill. It seems like ice cream isn't going to be possible any longer tomorrow, I closed the file and went to take a Long shower to recollect myself. Tomorrow is going to be a hell of a day. . .
