He smiled at her

When the news about the Shangguan Family's 'misfortune' came out, the nation was shocked.

The saint Shangguan Re Dong actually had such dealings behind everyone's back!

There were many speculations as to who the Shangguan Family had offended yet there were no solid leads.

Some people thought that it might have been a revenge exacted by someone the Shangguan Family double crossed before.

Based on the cruel nature of the torture, some people even deduced that it might be the mobsters.

There was a rumor that the Shangguan Family was affiliated with the mobsters.

There was also a rumor that the Young Master Shangguan had touched a woman of the leader of the mobsters.

Whatever the truth was, the public sentiment was the same. The Shangguan Family deserved whatever that was dealt to them.

...

A week passed by quickly and yet the old news about the Shangguan Family was still at the front page of every major news publication.

In fact, the latest news was of Shangguan Re Dong's resignation followed by the condition of his son.

Kai Xin smiled as she placed the newspaper she was reading back down on the stand.

Usually, this kind of news would considered old news after a while.

For it to remain at the front page, no doubt there was force behind it...namely, Du XiAn.

She picked up one of the magazines at the newsstand.

The news about the Shangguan Family might be dead now but the gossip about DX's true nature was starting.

When she saw the headlines, she chuckled.

"President Du x Unknown Man", "President Du loves a man?", "Who is the mysterious K who took the heart of Du XiAn?"

She winced when she read the front page cover of the largest international magazine in the world, "President Du? Is he finally out of the closet?"

When she went into office last Monday, everyone kept peeking at President Du and she heard their not so innocent comments about his dalliance with the mysterious K and possibly, Han Ye.

Han Ye had tried to defend himself but no one paid any attention to him.

Kai Xin tried to apologize but the man merely sighed and mumbled something about never taking any leave ever again.

Kai Xin was unable to have a proper conversation with DX because of the numerous interviews and board meetings that he had to attend as a result of their indiscretion.

He had told her to let it be and he would deal with everything.

When she wanted to come clean, he told her not to with the excuse, "At least, we can openly go out on a date without any other repercussions."

DX had wanted to meet with her friends. Apparently, Han Ye had mentioned something about a double date and DX thought that it would be a great idea.

Since he had an early morning meeting, she had agreed to wait for him here. It was the best location for all four of them.

She checked out her reflection in a storefront window and sighed as she adjusted her wig.

The big guy's big idea of a date was to make her cross-dressed.

Just as she was flipping through the magazine, she felt a cold chill that caused her to drop the magazine.

The chill was like a cold that slowly crept up her body and with it came a thousand tiny legs.

It was something that she was familiar with.

A feeling like someone was staring at her with a nefarious intent. As if he or she undressing her with their eyes.

Slowly, she turned around but she did not see anyone suspicious.

"Could I be wrong?" she thought. After all, it had been more than 10 years since she last saw him.

Every now and then, whenever she thought she caught a glimpse of him, it always ended up as a figment of her imagination.

Feeling uncomfortable, she quickly gave Jane a call, "Hey, are you reaching soon?"

"Almost! The traffic is bad!" Jane heard Kai Xin's voice and even though it was barely there, she heard the little crack in her voice, "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, everything's fine."

Jane did not trust Kai Xin when the latter said that everything was fine.

"Shaoyun should be there by now. Give him a call if you need any help."

"Alright. Drive safely"

She hung up the phone.

Just as she was about to dial Mo Shaoyun, from the corner of her eyes, she thought she saw a white haired man staring at her from across the road.

Looking up, she can only see a white tuft of hair.

His face was down so she was unable to have a clear view of his face.

Glancing down at the magazines rack, she whispered to reassure herself, "N-no, impossible. It can't be him. Ghost did not say anything about him being back!"

But when she looked up at him again, he was staring right at her. As their eyes met, she felt as if he was becoming taller and bigger.

An enormous weight was pressing down on her as sweat broke through her pores.

She saw his lips moved. He was saying something.

He smiled at her.

It was the same smile that she saw in her nightmares.

At the moment, she felt as if she was 14 years old again, and that she was at his mercy.

She tried to walk away but her legs refused to move.

When she tried to call for help, her throat felt parched. Even though it hurt her throat, she tried to call out in a raspy voice,"S-someone…"

Back in Malaysia! Hope everyone is well!

I thought I bought way too many socks from Seoul but apparently I was wrong.

I should have bought more than 30 pairs of socks.
