President Du's Birthday Party (6)

"Well, my mother organized an archery competition. I think the servants are setting it up. There would be a lucky draw competition at the end of the party as well."

He looked at his watch, a Limited Edition Jaeger Le-Coultre Duometre A Spherotourbillion, and added, "I think the archery competition is about to start. Do you want to join?"

Kai Xin shrugged, "Yeah. What is the prize?"

"Mother prepared a cheque for $500,000..." He arched his brow as he said teasingly, "...but I can change it to anything you want."

Kai Xin grinned and tugged his sleeve, "Can I have a wish then?"

DX looked at her suspiciously as he wondered what she was up to this time. However, looking at her excited face, he merely nodded, "Fine. If you managed to win, then I would grant you a wish."

At this point, even if she wanted his life, he would have handed it to her on a silver platter.

Kai Xin formed a fist and put it out, "Fist bump. A gentleman's agreement."

DX laughed and bumped her fist as he repeated, "A gentleman's agreement."

Naomi and Rin had wanted to talk to Kai Xin. However, the announcement by Old Mo had stopped them in their tracks.

Everyone started to gather at the Du Mansion's indoor training grounds. As all the men in the Du Family were fans of archery, they had built a proper area with all the latest equipments for them to train in.

Since archery was a sport that both genders can be equal in, everyone was encouraged to join.

To be fair, everyone would be using the bows and arrows prepared by the Du Family. As it was a chance for them to show off, many young men took part in the competition.

There were also women like Song Qiao and Naomi.

From the time she was born, Song Qiao's parents had the intention of marrying her off to an heir of the Du Family.

Everything she did must be a proper and prim. Whatever DX were interested in, she must be interested in them as well.

As for Naomi, who was the direct descendants of a shogunate house, she had been trained in archery since young and she often took part in the competitions.

Joining them were some other young misses from various households who were forced to participate by their parents who had wanted to show them off to the rich households that were present today.

About 30 minutes later, they took a break as Old Mo announced the scores.

"The finalists are Young Lady Song Qiao, Young Lady Naomi Nakamura, and Young Master K."

DX was sitting at the spectator's seat with his mother when the latter commented, "That young man was pretty good. I did not expect someone with such a slight built would be able to progress so far."

DX turned to his mother as he replied, "Don't judge a book by its cover. He might have more surprise in his sleeves."

Old Madam Du laughed softly, "I doubt he would be able to win against Song Qiao and Naomi. He barely managed to get into the finals while Song Qiao and Naomi had been getting perfect scores throughout."

DX thought about it before saying, "How about we make this more interesting?"

Old Madam Du raised a brow. Her expression was of curiosity as she looked at her son's face. "How do you propose we do so?"

DX stood up and walked to the announcer's stand. He whispered something to Old Mo and when the old man walked off, he spoke into the microphone, "Dear all, I think the competition was a little boring. How about we spiced it up a little?"

"Yes!" The crowd roared.

To the three finalists, he continued, "Well done on getting so far. I have decided to increase the prize. In addition to the monetary reward, the person who wins the competition will be granted a wish by me."

"Du XiAn!" His mother jumped out of her seat when she heard that. Her heart raced when she heard his son reckless announcement. "What is wrong with him! He should have known better!" She yelled in her heart.

The crowd roared when they heard the gift. Those who did not joined lament at the loss of the opportunity, while those who were eliminated can only cry for not being serious enough.

As for the three finalists, each of them wanted the wish for their own agenda.

"Of course. To win such a wish, the competition cannot be easy."

He glanced at Old Mo who nodded back at him. The servants came out and took away the stationary target. In their place now stood five specially design moving targets.

As the audience debated among themselves, Old Mo went and turned on the targets.

Each of the targets were moving at different speed level.

A spectator stood out and pointed out excitably,

"No! Look! It's not just that the targets have different speeds, the speed in each target varies as well!"
