A Weak Admiral Worth Respecting

She didn't reply to Mihawk immediately. She took a look around and asked with a coldly.

"The boys?"

Mihawk knew she was asking who hurt them, but he had to make it see like she had no prior connection to them so he replied.

"I just saw them for the first time today after clashing with the navy to protect a few prisoners from Mary Geoise…"

Mihawk went on to explain exactly what happened at the port.

When she heard Mihawk's description of the turn of events she felt her anger rise.

[You Marines wish to kill my son and nephew?! Good, good, good!]

She turned back to Mihawk and said icily.

"You can rest now, leave everything else to me!"

As he heard that he nodded and relaxed his body for the first time since Kizaru arrived. As he did, the injuries and fatigue he was forcefully suppressing before came over him all at once knocking him out.

When Mihawk fainted Gaia turned to look at Kizaru and Sun Wu.

Sun Wu had heard her conversation with Mihawk and was more than a little surprised as he said.

"The Joyous War Lord of the Joyous pirates… Why would a woman such as yourself come to aid Dracule Mihawk? What's the connection between the two of you?!"

She ignored his question as she laughed coldly and said indifferently.

"A Navy Admiral and Vice-Admiral trying to kill a bunch of kids?! Is this how pathetic the navy has become since the start of the great pirate era?! Disgraceful!"

Gaia's words were ruthless and direct making all the navy soldiers feel uncomfortable. Sun Wu frowned as he retorted.

"Those "kids" stood in the way of the world government doing their jobs and are responsible for the deaths of several Marines one being a Commodore, but more importantly they killed a Celestial Dragon! For their crimes, they deserve death!"

"HAHAHA! The world government's job? You mean recapturing slaves who escaped after being kidnapped against their wills to be the slaves of a bunch of trash, was that the job you meant?! You Marines are a group of hypocrites who claim to work for the masses yet are willing to be the running dogs for a bunch who are more lawless than most of us pirates!

Come to think of it I've killed 3 World Nobles over my time, according to your prior statement I deserve death… Well? What are you waiting for? Why don't you come and take my life?!"

Sun Wu looked at her with a frown. She looked at the Ape looking man with a mocking smile.

"Don't tell me you don't want my life anymore?

Snort! Like I thought, another Marine who bullies the weak and fears the strong!"

When he heard that Sun Wu was finally pushed to his boiling point. He immediately released his domain and thrust his staff at Gaia aiming to crush her skull into meat paste.

Seeing that, Gaia let out a disdainful snort and replied in kind. A terrifying domain erupted from her body crushing his as she stepped forward chopping her axe down which had been hardened by her haki.

Her axe chopped through his staff with virtually no effort and continued through his right arm cutting it off from the shoulder down.

Sun Wu grunted in pain as he jumped back to open the distance between them.

[I thought after stepping in to the Staff Lord boundary I would close the gap between us, but I still can't get close to making her serious. If I can't even fight her, I'd stand no chance against those 2!]

When everyone saw the results of their brief clash, their minds went blank. In their minds, the 3 Admirals were peak existences who were able to go toe to toe with the likes of Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard. But now, to see one of those peak existence they looked up to so easily defeated shocked them to their cores!

Gaia looked disdainfully at the one armed Admiral as she said indifferently.

"Did you really think you'd be able to beat me after entering the Staff Lord boundary?! I've been in this boundary for over a decade and you've clearly just entered it, you've severely overestimated your strength!

Even though you're sitting on the seat of an Admiral, you're by far the weakest of the 3. If it wasn't for Garp refusing to take the post, how could someone as weak as you possibly reach that rank? Deep down you know you're not strong enough to hold that rank, yet you still have the face to talk down to a man still in his twenties about the difference between him and an Admiral.

I truly admire the thickness of your skin. If it were any thicker, even I probably would've had trouble cutting through it with my axe!"

When Sun Wu heard Gaia's words, he clenched his remaining hand as he glared at the vicious woman! Even though he wanted to argue with her, he couldn't find the words to retort as everything she said was true!

He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. He knew that he stood no chance against this monstrous woman before him. The mission was over, with her here they stood no chance at avenging Jalmack and Vergo! He now had to find a way to save the lives of as many of the marines present as he could.

He turned to face Kizaru and the others as he shouted.

"RUN!"

He didn't need to speak twice. Everyone turned to make a break for it. Before leaving, Smoker turned to take a final look at the Admiral who was willing to lay down his life to facilitate their escape and the woman who forced him into such a precarious position. He didn't say anything he just stared at her, as if etching her features into his memory!

Kizaru looked conflictedly at Sun Wu. Just as he was about to speak Sun Wu cut him off.

"Go now! Do you really think with your little strength that you'll be able to help me against her? You'll only get in the way?!"

Kizaru clenched his teeth and turned into a ray of light attempting to escape. Just as he was about to disappear, Gaia moved to intercept him!

"Where do you think you're going?!"

As the person who was about to kill Roman and had blown Ori into a building, the person she wanted to kill most was none other than Kizaru!

Just as she was about to stop him a pitch black fist stopped her. She blocked the punch and sent a punch of her own at the man who stopped her sending him flying away!

As she looked up into the sky, Kizaru had already disappeared.

[Having the Light Devil fruit and awakening it, his speed isn't something that even I could catch. Sigh! That's too bad!]

"Hahaha, not even you can catch him when he's like that! Now come let me fight till my heart's content!"

As Sun Wu said that he shot towards her with his whole body covered in haki.

30 seconds later Gaia was stood over his body looking down at his lifeless body.

[Even if he was pretty weak for an admiral, as a warrior he was worth respecting. To be willing to give his life to protect his subordinates, not many would be able to do the same. As a show of respect I'll let those other marines live!]

As she thought to there she was looking in the direction Smoker and the others escaped.

She then looked up at the sky as if in deep in thought.

[Sigh! Looks like the Joyous Pirates will have to reappear in the eyes of the world a week ahead of schedule!]
