I mean it's kind of stupid don't you all think , the author repeatedly emphasizes that the MC is shrewd and intelligent but all he does is fumble lol like enough being pretentious , and nothing goes his way. And also if the contract had such terms he could have just given the contract way before I know there might have been resistance but if MC is as smart as the author says he would realise this is as good as it can get as no other would sign a contract with him , and him being 100% in control on top of that
