Hello, this is Ikari Muhino. I'll be re-evaluating the contents of chapters 49 and 50 so for now they will go unpublished. Thank you very much to everyone for reading this far from volumes 1 to 4. Just like many other novels and fics, this has a slow start, but I hope you will give this a try. It's the first story I've dedicated my free time to. I've seen one reader comment constantly in a span of 24 hours. I won't let his comments get to me, since it's my story. There's a reason to everything happening in the story. There is also a difference between constructive criticism and being a complete smartass. 1. Lawrens/Ramza is a pushover? There's a reason to it, and Volume 5 will explore why he is like that and how he will let it go. 2. Why didn't Tiul or anyone tell Ramza about Celine? Judge Tiul was scared of him, while everyone else didn't know. The real Serami also looked exactly like her but with blond hair, which would be a miss for most people. Dram went out of his way to tell him, as Tiul had strict orders not to do so. Her being a grand judicator got to her head, and in later chapters I'll reveal how controversial her appointment was (and why exactly was Aos not in Ivlis). 3. Everyone else is stupid. Yeah, but if everyone is smart, there is no room for development. I want flawed characters who gradually develop, not smartass characters who can do everything already and just rush everything. Remember that the Unvergang are no ordinary people and everyone who's not an Unvergang will never be able to kill them again should they be able to do so. 4. The MC is a horndog. Nope, he only did it with Emzai and Serami (who was actually his wife Celine), nobody else. 5. What exactly happened during the three months Ramza disappeared? Once again, Volume 5 will be dedicated to explaining that. Everything that had transpired in the story will be explored in Volume 5. 6. Was Serami even caring for Simon while he was kidnapped? Yes, she was worried to death for her son because unlike them, he doesn't have the curse. It just wasn't stated. 7. The amnesia arc from chapter 48. - It's not amnesia per se. Because he had no present memories that could be erased and he's now in a place transcending the physical plane (meaning he didn't have the capability to sleep), the curse was taking his other memories instead. If you are familiar with the Guardian Forces of Final Fantasy 8 and how their constant use by the characters affected their memories, that is the effect the Unvergänglich had on Ramza. 8. Is Jaem already dead? He hasn't made any appearances since Celine's coronation. - Yep, he's dead. 9. Is the Unverganglich like Doomsday? Yes, it is. 10. Too many deaths. That is the point of the story - a life of many deaths. Death is the central theme. A lot from the story needs work, yes, since this is my first novel and I don't have all the time in the world to actually fix them real-time (this isn't my actual job and is just my side hobby). I go with whatever's in my head while backtracking to the previous chapters to make sure they're related, but whatever didn't work or seemed senseless, I will try to mitigate them in future chapters. Once again, to those who have read the story whether you found the time to comment or not, thank you very much. Volume 5 instead will be released as a whole, not by chapter.
