could do both if the chakra(enemy) is still connected to them it could infect them and if it's not connected do what iIsaid

maybe the abyss creates some kind of anti chakra (that either straight up destroys chakra or maybe make it so anti chakra can only destroy chakra in a 1-1 radio or it just straight up makes chakra explode)
