And 7 years later Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 5) #73LGY: Amazing Spider-Man #874 creates that scheme of Harry Osborn I mentioned. Honestly, what little I have read about Marvel comics seems like a mess with a bunch of writers messing with each others storylines.

I admittedly haven't read the Comics but according to the Wiki she didn't actually cheat. The twins were artificially created from her and Norman's DNA after her death. It was supposedly some scheme of Harry Osborn to torture his father and Peter. Mysterio helped sell the lie by hypnotising Norman and MJ.

There is actually something like a nuclear explosion spell in the books. It's been used by the Rider Thuviel and by Galbatorix.

The main limit to magic tends to be knowledge and personal power to fight someone else's usage of magic (like the test from the books where one magic user tries to raise a stone while another tries to stop it) so Eragon must either be crazy powerful or his magic usage has some property to ignore or overwhelm whatever magical protection other people cast. Otherwise there is no way someone else hasn't already tried his simple solutions to problems.

It's more of a fanfic explanation... Canon clothing simply doesn't break because they can't exactly show a bunch of naked people every time they fight, in an anime that a lot of children watch.

Maybe normal clothes do break but someone (Vegapunk) has created specilized clothing that transforms with the devil fruit user and since Gion just got her fruit she still doesn't have such specilized clothing.
