Your terminology is wrong or you interpret it differently. a story is said to be dropped only if author has no desire to continue it anymore. For example recently the versatile mage novel itself had been on hiatus for two years and is being continued now. the story hasn't ended. Also if you do think it is dropped then fine, but do not enforce it on a Fanfic which is going to get new updates

Nah, Ayan is not Subaru they react differently. For example in the end it was said [Oh Lord, punish me for the sins that i commit]. That means he knows he won't the justice or 'Right guy'. Secondly his mentality here is not he is punishing evildoers or doing justice. But he considers people who do evil as sinners, and those who tolerate those who do evil also sinners. He said here Karma, because he won't be going after people who can do bad or will be doing bad. But rather who had already done bad. Also ayan has no interest in torturing others, if they deserve to be torture God will take care of that. If Ayan has become evil, then God will punish him for that. But he has to be the guy who cannot tolerate people tormenting others by justifying it. Whatever that reason was, it does not collerates to them being forgiven. Like Petelgeuse has murdered people and relished in torturing others, however we know his past and effect on Emilia. So that doesn't means he should be forgiven. It is God's job to forgive or punish him, not Ayan's. He just cannot tolerate it anymore, because he has been broken.
