This novel is fucked. As far as I can tell, the premise is that the girlfriend is trauma bonded with a sociopathic ex boyfriend, who emotionally manipulates her, along with helping others rape her. The boyfriend is a cuck who gets off on being cucked, even when his mate is raping her. He’s still in love with her even though she’s cheating, lying and pretending. Reading this made me feel sick.

Is trying to fight monsters with significantly more power than you, good character development though? Seems like a pretty stupid thing to do..?

Unfortunately I’m dropping the novel because of the random full stops at the end of every chapter that are I infuriating to listen to on audio, and the fact that it’s 10 coins for the shortest chapter of any novel I’ve read on WebNovel, and start at chapter 20. Really bad set up, very clearly trying to maximise money earned even at the expense of the enjoyment of the story.

Please get rid of the full stops at the end of every chapter they are infuriating to listen to when you listen to the audio. Please!!

I have realized that I a lot of the women have liked him so far, I'll try and take it down a notch, but it will be a harem novel, so naturally there will be a lot of attractive women that are into him. As far as them being cute, they are like 10-11 years old, so yeah I'm not going to call them beautiful or anything. Also, Val has come from a small town, where he did not interact with that many girls around his age, so for now, his standards are pretty low, as he gets older and interacts with different women with different appearances, his standards will change. Thanks for the input, I'll take it into consideration and try and improve.

I don't really understand why your comment is on this paragraph, but I understand what you mean. He does not trust people but that won't stop him from getting close to them. He just won't intentionally share his secret or trust his back to them (for now). He's a smart kid so he knows that it won't be beneficial for him to go through his entire life without interacting with others, he will need others but that is a separate matter from trusting them. In future chapters, you will see that though he allows people to get close to him, that point is him caring about them. I hope this clears up your issue :)

Not really, there may be special items that appear way later in the story, but generally speaking, there is no way to increase talent. Talent represents your maximum potential, but most people never reach their maximum potential in their entire life. Increasing potential won't necessarily help someone, especially someone like Val. But just because he cant increase his talent, doesn't mean he cant increase his strength, there are many ways to increase strength.

I would not say either, I would not label him a hero or anti-hero. He is definitely not a hero and will act primarily for his own benefit. But he's not outright evil, he's a child, and children are selfish, as he gets older he will mature. But fundamentally, he lives in a world where you need to be selfish, therefor he will be.
