Then we divide both sides with 0.9 which makes the new equation: 0.9x/0.9 = 297/0.9. We can remove the two 0.9 on the side of the x and we are left with x = 297/ 0.9 , which is equal with x = 330. So the starting price is 330 dollars.

10% of 330 is 33. If you subtrack 33 from 330 you get 297, as such 90% of 330 is 297. (You are dividing incorectly, you don't divide with 1.1 but with 0.9.)

Actually it was 330. You dont add 10% it’s incorrect, you have to assume the previous price as x and solve (x * 0.9 = 297) for x. (Sorry, I have a problem)
