Regarding the issue of date numbering in the Julian calendar, it is true that the calendar did not use a "restart system" for each new month, meaning that the numbering of dates continued from the previous month. For example, if January had 31 days, then the first day of February in the Julian calendar would be numbered as "32" rather than "01". This is why when converting Julian dates to the Gregorian calendar, it is important to adjust for this discrepancy in date numbering. However, it is worth noting that the Julian calendar did not use the modern names for the months, so while it is correct that October 25 in the Gregorian calendar is equivalent to October 12 in the Julian calendar, there would not have been any reference to "October" in the Julian calendar itself. Hope this is helpful!

Hey guys, author here! To clarify, the calendar we use is called the Gregorian calendar introduced 1582 CE, while the Julian calendar was introduced in 45 BCE by the Romans. Why we convert from the Julian to the Gregorian is mainly because the Julian is slightly less accurate, it depicts that a year is 365.25 day long which is false (It's actually 365.2425 day long). As a result, It produces a difference of around 11 minutes every year between the Julian and Gregorian calendar, pile that up for centuries, and the difference becomes 13 days. So as an example, 7 November in the Gregorian is 25 October in the Julian calendar. Substract any day you choose in the Gregorian calendar by 13 days, then you'll get the Julian version. More in authors' thoughts :D
