But it isn’t a primary skill so it won’t be as powerful. Also he doesn’t have as much time to train those skills up to adequate or better levels. Therefore it would be wasting money in a sense. Now not buying other crafting skills is a waste bc they would synergize together

I believe it is more like the paths given energy. It’s supposed to be the most ‘pure’ energy. Just treat it as mana with extra benefits.
