The description of kitty paws as “toe beans” makes me irrationally happy.

As his breathing evened out, Milky's eyes opened and surveyed the tree line. He settled down on Syryn's chest while keeping an eye out for the spectre that hunted his master. If it dared to get close, Milky would rip it apart. The kitten's silver claws gleamed in the moonlight before they slipped back inside.

The master of the inn wore surprise on his face, glancing between the two young masters in front of him. They were both magnificently handsome! A real loss for the ladies that they decided to join hands but… They did look like a good match, indeed! The master of the inn wondered if his daughter would be disappointed or ecstatic that the Immortal of a Thousand Blossoms was taken by a man like this.

That long, soft tail came up to smack him in the face. Annoyed, he caught the tail in his hands and vented his frustrations on it by giving the thing a good shake.

Alas, he was a man and did not appreciate the way that the demon king's robes were loose and falling off his shoulders, revealing a sculpted white jade chest and haphazard bandages that seemed to only add to the allure.
