so i actualy do HEMA historical european martial arts and while eastern swords are easier to draw there isnt that big a difference in the difficulty of using them in tight spaces i would even say european swords would be slightly preferable as they are a bit more focussed on stabbing it should also be noted that eastern swords and european swords are very vague catagories as they both contain many different types i mainly use the fedder which tends to be a bit longer my own feder is 135cm which is around 25cm longer than a katana that tends to stop at 110cm according to google also historically the katana was made from pretty bad metal since japan did not have any good iron ore reserves but that wouldn't really matter in the story
