Pretty good summary as for the return of demon generals and the demon lord, they're part of Nerva's recurring nightmares and rituals and sacrifices amongst other things are required to revive them. Although even the smallest speck of corruption can eventually bring the entirety of the demon army back. Ps: Hell exists but it's exclusively for devils and they're essential part of the holy order. What that means is without hellheaven doesn't exists for there to be good there must be evil.

This is how bee colonies work btw. The males work themselves to death and die in a span of two days, the queen kills all females than can challenge her. Eventually the queen is only replaced by the give once she's too old and a better queen is chosen by the rest to take her place. In such a case the hive kills the old queen.

The smiting thing is correct. As for level ups, there's no level ups simply increase in stats with practice. Think of it like this, if you drink small amount of poison over time you begin to grow a tolerance for it and eventually you can take even larger doses.
