I don't know why, but I have a feeling he'll end up getting involved in the story because of some basic cliché. I think the invasion of the arena would be a good time to send the four old council members to the Pure Land all together so they don't get bored.

Thanks for the chapter. I think Lady Death appears because she revived the people Klarion killed. Something might develop between them, and maybe she'll tell him to retrieve the immortal's soul.
