By far my favorite novel! Thank you!
~ 1300 chapter review ~ Currently not caught up yet, but so far I’ve throughly enjoyed the story. The plot itself is interesting. It goes from a sort of sudden apocalyptic setting to something more similar the xianxia-cultivation world, both of which I’ve dabbled in in the past. Despite some inconsistencies here and there, the story still occasionally has me totally engrossed with blood pumping from excitement. The author is good at absteining from cliches, and although it sometimes seems kind of forced, it gives the story a satisfactory douse of originality. The authors writing is constantly evolving throught the story, and approaching ch1000 it suddenly takes a jump, a happy suprise I must say. Still, maybe as a consequence of this, it sometimes seems like the author changes their mind mid story, either discarding previous parts of the story, an example being the first power gauging system, or suddenly adding things that should have been explained previously, like sudden increase in proficiencies of the mc, in this case, just explaining that he had been working on it on the side would be enough. Of course more often than not, these inconsistencies are properly explained and sure they might have been a conscious choice and part of the story, but I still think the story would be elevated without them. The story has several more such inconsistent occurrences, which is the main reason my overall rating decreases a notch. Nevertheless they are easy to overlook and it’s a story I still would recommend to a friend looking for an interesting read.
At first I though you wrote: "Rather than getting engaged. Finding Shadow Slave has been one of the joys of this year." Which I found as a bit of a strech, but somehow not completey ureasonable lol
After taking a break from Webnovel for a while, this was my first novel after my return to the site. After catching up to the latest chapter, I'm now left feeling empty and hollow. I must say, no other novel has made me feel this way before, and even if I can't compare to the true veterans of this site, I've read my fair share, among them many of the highest rated. This might be the best novel I've read, although I can't rule out the fact that my hiatus may have left me easier to please. Still, the writing is nothing except exceptional, with great and original twists and characters. The characters can't exclusively be loved or hated, they're neither completely good nor evil, making them much more real and human. Having mastered the art of unpredictability, the author gives the readers a comfortable reading experience while sometimes making them stand up on their toes. The only fault I could find, after digging though my mind, is that the Second Nightmare lasted a bit too long. I caught myself sometimes longing to move on from it, and read about what would come after. However, don't get me wrong. I did love every bit of it, and now looking back, I kind of wish it was longer. The uncomfortable feeling made the ending all the better, and was absolutely worth it in the end. It's not a perfect novel, but it might just be the closest thing to it. Truly a great novel I would highly recommend!
it is a typo tho. Her name is Cassie not Cassia
I agree, however I think what shes trying to say is that when entering combat, you have to act with the intent to murder the other, and not just survive, or else you wont be able to win or something like that. Still, I agree survive might have been the better answer, but it doesnt sound as cool.
in his mind
In other people's eyes, he's also practically a dead person
