Ves had made that promise almost 9 months ago. He had failed to remember which secrets he should withhold from Ketis. This was an unacceptable oversight on his part. Again its normal trivia. its like an engineer knowing the first law of thermodynamics, not building a collider.
The only animals he had an intimate understanding of were venomous snakes. The patterns of the others were just broken tidbits of trivia to him. He wasn't sure if mammoths moved in packs or not, but it was doubtful that such a young mammoth would truly be alone.

How do the cosmos and the Five Scrolls interact?
If the cosmopolitans truly managed to convert some of the leading figures of the Red Two and the first-rate colonial superstates into willing collaborators and informers, then that meant that their influence and reach had already come close to reaching the level of the Five Scrolls Compact at its height!
