When he says he will eat rabbit meat everyday… 💭
When there’s a will… Besides, it’s not like he has to defeat Trigon instantly. He just needs to prevent the possession and bide his time as he learns the rules of magic and demonology. Eventually he will be strong enough to formally say hello to his father in law. That, or he can strike a deal with one of the big guys. I imagine he would have a few ideas with his specific meta knowledge.

Starfire
If he’s gonna take on strontian aesthetics he might need a similar GF. Possible non human FML: Miss Martian, Starfire, Raven Miss Martian is cute and eager for friendship (as is Starfire) but she’s secretly hiding her white Martian identity… and she loses all sensual characteristics in her battle form. His mental immunity could be a topic of interest… Starfire has a lively personality and generic superman like features. I like her character in teen titans… but the live action was a disaster. Raven… is probably a really good fit for the FML. His will power and her constant struggle with emotions, half demon half human with a pale complexion similar to what I imagine a half strontian might look like.
With his infinite will the ring can do anything… yet he doesn’t heal her father? Okay
The fact that you think it was normal for him to ignore alien technology, especially when he has foreknowledge about the plot, puts a damper on my expectations. I would expect him to have a modicum of common sense (let alone genius intellect from his gift/essence). This was extremely irresponsible of him… and a little too unreasonable, all things considered.
So… did he jump into the body of Hal Jordan as an adult or did he live his life with the same mistakes? I mean, getting reborn means starting from conception and living a new life. If he jumped in at twenty he’s either lost twenty years of life and memories or he’s absorbed the memories of someone else. Neither are options I would like. Skipping his childhood is bad… but living through it without making any changes is much worse.
You made them young
This guy isn’t built for combat… so when Batman gets him to join in on the heroics he’s essentially asking for carnage. And by denying him an effective weapon the MC is the one most likely to be on the receiving end of it.
