zero to hero, gamer in marvel and DC

I hate my life, I really hate it, and not for reasons you might think. I don't have a terrible backstory, I didn't lose my entire clan like Sasuke, I didn't watch most of my friends die like itadori, I don't have a homicidal maniac trying to take over my body like boruto, I'm just very unlucky. I was unlucky enough to be born into a poor ass family, I was unlucky enough to be born with my skinny body, I was unlucky enough to have my mom get stage four cancer, I was unlucky enough to never make any friends, things never go in my favor, I lost my job due to a homicidal maniac blowing up the mall I work at, and now... Now I'm in the middle of a battle between Superman and general zod, two god-like beings clashing with each other at every turn, entire buildings destroyed, and unfortunately for me, my groceries were in the crossfire. So like any normal person, I ran, ran to safety... Or so I thought, because that safety ended up with me having a pipe stabbing me through my stomach, and me bleeding out on the sidewalk.

"Ah shit..." I muttered staring at my blood covered hand, my consciousness starting to fade. That's when I saw the glowing white screen in front of me, stating that I had been chosen.

'Johnathan Phillips, you have been chosen to inherit the super hero system' it read, then switched to a different screen.

'You have shown all the qualities of a hero, and you have been chosen to, if you accept, carry the fate of the universe on your shoulders... And save it from utter doom' it read, making me confused.

'Bearing this system is a heavy burden, you will be challenged in many ways' everything started to slow around me as I read the next pop up.

'Of course, you will be saved from death if you accept' it read.

'But keep in mind, you will go through many tragedies with this system, you will gain a lot... But you will lose more than you gain'

'Knowing this, will you accept becoming the owner of the superhero system?

Y/N' I thought for a moment, and realized that I would be leaving my sister all alone, and my mother to die. I didn't want that for my family, I had worked all my life just to make sure my sister lived a good one, I had worked all my life to make sure my mom could watch her kids grow up. I had never actually lived my life, so I could let my sister live hers. If I died, everything I worked for, everything I fought so desperately for, would be for nothing. So without any hesitation, I answered.

"Yes." I said weakly, fading into unconsciousness.

'Congratulations Johnathan, you have become the owner of the super hero system, make sure to make everyone proud' was the last thing I saw before I passed out.
