What if a far, far more powerful being than the entities took interest in Earth Bet? What if this being gave powers to a family of 12? What if this family had powers that not only would shake this world, but eventually the Multiverse? Well, we're about to find out. ................ Worm Fic, Eventual Multiverse Cross Over, Good Aligned characters, Multiple POVs, Consistent power scaling, the story is about a large family so expect fluff and wholesome stuff, AU, Every action has consequences good or bad, OC's. P.S.: This story is gonna be a lot different than most on this platform. It has a lot more focus on characterization, actual plot, Character descriptions, etc. I'm trying to treat it like an actual story and not a fan fiction as practice for my own original works. So expect twists, characters that actually fuck up, me staying true to how characters we're written (for the most part, unless they'd be less fun), original arcs, characters, and more.
Grandpa please! I wanna help people!"
A Sigh escaped the mouth of Kane as he looked upon his adorable granddaughter.
She was tall for her age, barely eleven yet she stood at 5"1. Not that it hid her youthfulness. Still looking every bit her age.
Her skin was pale white, similar to the color of the moon, and it even glistened slightly from the light hanging above their heads. She was wearing her mom's makeup again.
The Clothing she wore was similar to a shrine maiden. Some modifications were present, however. The main one being the small runes etched in the lining of the outfit.
Her eyes were a dim red color, not quite scarlet, but more of a halfway point. The pupils of the eyes were beast-like. Nearly perfectly matching that of a fox.
The most eye-catching part of his descendant, however, was the fox tail and ears that sprouted from her head and tail bone respectively. They were an amusing sight, with the way her tail swished back and forth in frustration, and her ears twitched for the same reasons.
Every time he saw his grandchild he wanted nothing more than to smother her with affection like he used to when she was a bit younger. Ah, but she'd grow embarrassed at the attention nowadays. The silly girl thinks she's getting too old for that.
Bah, you could never get too old for hugs and cuddles. The only thing that changed as you grew older, was who you cuddled with. And She wasn't at that age yet, when she was 13 probably, but that was two years away.
" Tia, I thought you were satisfied with working in the medical bay? What happened?" Kane asks with all the patience one would expect from a grandfather.
The little girl huffs and cutely pouts, then crosses her arms across her chest.
Seeing that pose, Kane's lips twitch in amusement.
' Someone's trying to copy their Papa,' Kane thought, the image of an older male in his late thirties with Wolf-like ears overlapping her form. Though the male's pose was much more intimidating. On Tia it just looked cute.
" It's Borrrring! All I do is heal sparring injuries, and I never get to use my powers for anything else." The Feline girl whined
Kane raised a brow.
" So you're just bored?"
The Girl blushed in embarrassment at Kane's accusation.
" N-no, I mean, yeah I am. BUT! I also want to help people, " Kane went to speak, but Tia continued before he could," Our minions don't count!" She said that last bit while pointing a finger at her grandfather in annoyance.
Kane snorted at his granddaughter calling his family's organization 'minions'. It wasn't wholly incorrect, but calling them minions was a bit unfair. Employees were more accurate.
Extremely loyal Employees that'd do anything they'd want…. Maybe minions was an apt description. Not that Kane ever let her know he kinda agrees with her. That'd make the eleven-year-old far too smug for the next couple of weeks.
"And why don't our Employees," Kane starts, stressing the word Employee," count as helping people? They need assistance just as anyone else would."
Tia gave him an unamused stare.
" No, no they don't. We give them all kinds of health benefit stuff! And Nick can heal too! AND we give them "flames".
Tia said the last part with finger quotations. Showing her obvious annoyance at this whole discussion.
Kane was about to dismiss her claims, but a voice to his side interrupted him.
" I think we should let her do it."
Looking to his left he observed the woman that stood near him.
Beautiful, would be the first thing to come to mind when seeing her. She stood at an average 5"2. Three and a half feet shorter than Kane was.
Her skin, like Tia's was pale white, unlike the eleven-year-old's however, her skin had an ethereal tint to it. Not similar to Tia's glistening look.
The woman wore light blue armor made of a metal unfamiliar to most of the world. It shimmered blue consistently, with minuscule blue sparks producing from its form. On Top of the armor, a red cloak was draped comfortably.
The woman had two intense raging blue eyes that seemed to stare at everything with a passive gaze. Looking as if she had seen it all before. Along her ears were dozens of stylish piercings of differing colors.
Those same ears were pointed at their tips. Giving her an elf-like appearance. A battle elf more specifically.
" See, even Aunt Morgan agrees!" The Fox girl said in excitement, making Kane hum as he looked at Morgan.
Morgan was one of his daughters. Kane didn't have favorites among his children or grandchildren, but Morgan was by far the most capable in a lot of aspects. It was one of the reasons he appointed her leader when he decided to take a back seat.
" You "saw" it didn't you?" Kane asks as he leans back into the chair he was sitting in this entire time.
Well, Kane considered it a chair. In reality, it was much closer to a throne than anything else.
Morgan nodded at Kane.
" Yes," Simple stated Morgan.
Kane let out a sigh. It was time to let Tia out of the nest a bit he guessed.
Tia seemingly picked up what the sigh Kane let out meant and promptly smiled widely.
" Lets! Freaking! Go!" Yelled out his granddaughter, her childish voice bouncing off the large room they were in as she fist-pumped the air.
Once again, Kane considered it a large room, in reality, it was closer to a grandiose throne room.
"Now listen here, young lady. I may be letting you help people outside of the group, but you will have to go through proper first-contact protocols with your cousin Julie. Not only that but your Father will be accompanying you." Kane said sternly.
Tia didn't even look disappointed by Kane's words. She was still too excited about being able to go outside and help people who really needed it.
" Okaythankyougrampa I'll see you later byeee!" fired Tia at a million miles a second, as she rushed out of the room. Her tail swished in excitement behind her.
A second later the enormous doors that lead into the room opened and shut as Tia left. The last thing Kane heard was a squeal of excitement, and her happily yelling about "freedom".
After she left, Kane gave Morgan a curious look. Knowing that he needn't say anything for her to answer his unsaid question.
" She improves the overall plan if she's introduced earlier than initially anticipated," Morgan said with a tone that suggested she wasn't a fan of her decision.
" Does she have to be first?" Kane asked seriously.
Originally it was supposed to be his son Tut who made first contact with the rest of the world. He fit the bill perfectly and was the most… social of his children.
" Zeke will be going with her, so she won't be alone. The image that's needed will be heavily reinforced with those two."
Kane only nodded to his daughter's words. He'd listen to them for now.
" Which city will she be going to?"
Morgan at Kane's question winced, most likely already "seeing" his possible reactions. Her reaction caused him to narrow his eyes suspiciously. Already he was preparing to calm any rage he might feel at his answer.
"Brockton Bay," Morgan said warily.
It took a not-so-inconsiderable amount of willpower to force down the urge to take his daughter's sight and see for himself what could possibly warrant sending his granddaughter to that hell hole.
" Why. " He said simply, but underneath anger threatened to boil to the surface.
Eyes widening slightly, and completely losing the look of seeing it all, Morgan went to quickly explain her reasoning.
" Everything points to the Bay being the central point of change in the world. We have to start there." Morgan said quietly, her earlier confidence diminished.
Kane realized that in his anger he used one of his boons by accident. With a thought, he turned it off and slumped further into his chair. He didn't miss the soft sigh of relief as his daughter retained her sight.
" Fine. I'll allow it."
Morgan nodded, her eyes taking on her usual look once more,
" But, if Tia is hurt" Kane started, his voice growing deeper as certain memories flashed in his mind," I will personally butcher every single living thing in that city like I originally planned."
His words were not an Idle threat. That city was rotten and deserved nothing more than to be purged from this world like the parasite it was. Even before the rise of Parahumans, it was nothing more than a rotten blot upon this world.
" I'm afraid my brothers will beat you to it if that comes to pass." Morgan committed as she looked up, seemingly looking at something past the stone walls of the room.
Kane, the Monarch of his family, chuckled at Morgan's words. Finding them true even without resorting to using "sight".
Claiming down, he rested his head on his fist. Looking every part a ruler of some kingdom.
" True. Often I forget that all of us have grievances with that city. After all…"
Images flash through his mind of nine individuals standing over the broken bodies of his family.
" We all triggered there."
