THE STRONGEST PLAYER
The 21st century should have been one of the best moments of humanity, science was developing as never seen before, all industries somehow grew towards a future that pleased almost everyone; art, culture, and society slowly found themselves in an almost perfect balance.
Even the wars slowly ended, it was supposed to be a true era of peace, but that was unfortunately just a dream, after all, the destiny of humans does not seem to be peace and happiness ...
It all started in 2024, a SpaceEX space station on Mars identified strange signals being emitted from deep space, when the news spread, scientists from all over the world were absolutely excited about the possibility of being an extraterrestrial contact.
But the opinion of the military was different, no one was confident in facing a race that could travel through outer space, the concept alone already implied that its level of technology, especially war technology, should be decades if not, hundreds of years more advanced than those of humans. Secretly fearing the worst, all military forces have allied and created a contingency plan.
It didn't take long for the first eye contact to happen, and ... well, let's say they weren't as expected, whatever was coming towards Earth, they didn't have a physical shape, it was like a black cloud, as it passed through Satellites in the orbits of other planets, they temporarily shut down because of the interference of the black cloud.
It only took a few days for the entire solar system to be touched by the cloud, at first it seemed like an isolated event, some speculated that it was concentrated black matter and that seeing the cloud was just a stroke of luck, others said it was a warning of God, an omen for the day that hell would take hold of the Earth, and I must say, these religious could not be closer to the truth.
All the planets that the black cloud touched showed something scary, the appearance of demons, Behemots, creatures of varying size, that could go from the height of an adult human to a building like the 'empire state building', but that was not all, some of these monsters had a wide variety of special powers, capable of controlling beams of energy, gravity, impenetrable bodies, and extraordinary strength, etc.
Mars was the first to fall, the bases on its surface were only exploratory and for scientific purposes, it did not last even a week.
But the Earth? Well, we can only thank the military for preparing, saving half the world’s population was really an unexpected feat...

Please do not expect too much of this work, I am writing it only for training purposes, I have never written anything original before and I do not have much confidence in my work, moreover, English is not my primary language so do not expect exceptional grammar and structure.
For those who continue reading even after what I said, if the work reaches a satisfactory level of views and support, I probably will not drop it after a month or two releasing chapters, in its current state, don't expect more than a hundred or so chapters.
