Recovery

I intensified my steps. Fear had gripped me and my heart beat with exertion. The thought of loosing my baby left my mouth dry as I grasped for air. The bleeding was becoming much and I knew I would miscarry if I didn't do anything about it.

On a second thought, I wanted to go back to Ethan for help, but he would easily get to know I was pregnant when we get to the clinic. And that was the that thing I wanted. I wanted to conceal my child from him and everyone in the pack.

Shortly, I managed to get to the slave house. But everywhere had been locked. My mouth had started gnashing in pains as pressure began to set in my pelvis region. The bleeding, becoming more serious.

"You stubborn brat!" I muttered under my breath as I bit the curves of my lips in pains. It could only be stubbornness that would make me decide to bleed to death, than calling on Ethan for help, although he seemed to have gotten back to the royal palace.

Suddenly, one of the guards noticed some strange noises where I was, and began to flash their touches. Off course, this would have been a great opportunity to hand myself in and get the treatment I needed at the clinic. But my stubbornness took the best of me as I was adamant on finding help myself.

I quickly tugged my body behind an oak tree, concealing it as much as I can. My breathes had become heavier than before.

"Someone there?" A strong masculine voice sounded in the background.

"I don't think so." The one with the touch light replied.

It was obvious he couldn't see me. Now it was left for me to stop making a sound and probably miraculously save myself. The guards footsteps became fainter with time, together with the touch light they displayed into the wind.

I noticed the bleeding had stopped down there, and the pelvis pains, were beginning to reduce too. But some other parts of my body was still bleeding as well, and I couldn't ignore it. I was loosing my strength along the way, and I was scared I might bleed to death.

I quickly lowered my head to one of the oak's root. This was as a result of weakness. I was beginning to struggle to keep my eyes open. Tired, I allowed my eyelashes flutter at the command of the wind.

Again, some footsteps became closer, and the further I tried to hide, the more it became closer. Looking up, I met a fat woman who I suspected should be in her late 40s, standing before me. She had startled me, and letting out a loud cry was the next possible way to respond. But before I could make a sound, she reached for the curves of my mouth and covered it with her hard palm.

Mixed with sweat and stench of old metal, I struggled to breath in air as the dirty hand pressed against my mouth.

"Shii!" Her soft voice commanded. After I met the calm reassuring eyes that stared deep into mine, I began to calm down. Trying so much to breathe in air admits the stench that was about to choke me.

"Dont make a sound, and I won't hurt you." She commanded, still displaying a demeanor calm enough to calm me down. She was putting on a slave gown and it was easy to detect she was a slave like me. And when I checked for a batch, to at least get her number, I found nothing.

After some seconds, she finally decided to lift her palm from my mouth, knowing fully well that I was still scared of her. At that point, I was scared and optimistic at the same time. Scared of the strange dirty figure before, while optimistic that someone had finally come to rescue me. And I was eager to let go of my fears and be optimistic.

When she saw I was bleeding, she quickly laid my head down, while using one of the roots as a head rest.

"You're badly injured." she sounded. I could see the concern in her rough round face. Although she was a slave like me, It was a face I had never seen before.

She quickly tore the edge of her gown and began to form a tourniquet with it. This was a woman I had never seen in my life, and having a heart to save me, made me relaxed and willing to trust her.

"It'going to hurt, please endure it." She said and pulled out a stone from the hard hunter's bag that hung around her neck.

"what's that?" I asked concerned, almost jumping off from my rest position. My voice was beginning to gain it's potency back.

"The moonstone."

My eyes widened in astonishment. I had heard a lot about the moonstone when I was still working in the farm. It was rumoured that the moonstone had the power of both evil and good. And could only be possed by a werewolf. And to the best of my knowledge, only humans were slaves in the Cardias pack. Now, seeing a slaves in possession of the moonstone, without it hurting her was what I found surprising.

"Who are you?" I managed to ask. This time, I had become confused and afraid. I know how short tempered werewolves could be, so i didn't want to get her angry. I moved my body, trying to shift it further away from her touch, while awaiting her reply.

"Does it matter?" she responded, with a voice as cold as an ice. Still focussing on my wounds.

"Do you need help or not?" She asked, this time focusing her gaze on me. Immediately, I could sense she was a werewolf, the character she displayed was typical of them.

"Sure, please treat me, I'm equally bleeding down there." I pleaded, while looking as pitiable as possible.

She nodded emphatically and proceeded to grab my hands.

She brought the moonstone closer to my body and began to heal the wounds. She would cast some spells along the line, while I watched in awe how skilled she was and the fine movements she made with her hands. But one thing had struck the both of us, the process wasn't painful for me, like she thought it would be.

She kept starting into my eyes as she laid the stone against my skin, proceeding to tie a tourniquet in each place.

"Does it hurt?" she asked, expecting I would say yes.

"No, it doesn't." I replied. I could see the surprise in her face. The more she laid it against my skin, it was as if a strong force was brewing inside me. I would experience some sort of energy that wasn't typical of me.

Shortly after the healing, the ounds disappeared completely and I stopped bleeding. But something else happened, my burning eyes had shattered the moonstone and the pieces turned to dust before us.
