Chapter 5
"Hi I am Alya, HR head for MMCorps.
Your name has been shortlisted for interview with MMCorps this thursday. Please make sure you are on time and its at 10 a.m. I will email you the address in a short while."
"Umm, ahh, Oh, ok but how did you get my profile? I don't remember applying for your bank?" Nandini was a bit confused.
"We got it from your Business School student reference drive. Please be on time and get your ID proof. Thank-you have nice day."
Nandini was happy to know that she had got call from one of best banks in Mumbai. She informed Amms and started preparing for her interview thinking she would crack this interview.
Manik was thinking that he should have very tricky questions for all the candidates so that he will choose the most eligible one. He smirked and penned down few questions and had final look and was satisfied "Hmmmm!! lets see who cracks this toughest interview."
Soon interview day arrived and Nandini got through four rigorous rounds and the final round was to be interviewed by Manik.
Slowly she entered Manik's cabin which was really posh and had almost everything needed Nandini was dumbstruck looking at the interiors of his cabin. Manik was sitting on his chair going through Nandini's profile. He sensed she is in and asked her to sit without looking at her.
Nandini was praying, that she gets through this round as well. After five minutes he looked at Nandini and at the same time Nandini gazed at him,they both were lost in thoughts after looking directly into each others eyes "So Ms. Murthy you have got through all the rounds and you are here that's really good. Hope you get through this and we will hopefully get your services for our bank." He said in a serious and husky yet authoritive voice.
Nandini got back to her senses and answered, "Yes, I am looking forward to work for this bank" and then the grilling session started after an hour Manik was stunned by her IQ level. She almost answered every question even if he had twisted the questions. He said "OK, so without any further ado I would like to inform you that you are hired, our HR will complete all the formalities and you can join us next week. If you have any questions please ask."
Nandini answered "Err, emm, hmm no I don't have any questions thank you for the offer let me know if I need to sign any contract so that I can go through it and re think."
Manik said "Oh yes! Good you know such things. Its the bond. You have to sign the bond that if you quit in six months you need to pay 10 lakhs as penalty and if you are fired you don't have to do anything so you are bonded with this company for 2 years period."
Nandini thought for a while and said "OK let me finish the formalities."
Manik said "You really don't have time lady, its today or never, many others are dying to get the offer."
Nandini snickered "Oh!! but this is really big decision of my life so let me atleast think for some more time."
"Fine." said Manik, actually he didn't want to let go such genius so he had made up his mind, by hook or crook she is going to be part of MMCorps.
Nandini left the cabin.
Manik thought.
Hmmm!! this girl is something really different , it would be an experience to work with her and yes those gleaming confident eyes, not even once she looked nervous or overconfident, must say she has got all.
What the crap!! why am I thinking about to be hired employee so much.
He rolled his eyes and called Alya to get the paper work done asap.
Nandini at the same time had different conversation with her mind and with her God.
Oh God, such an arrogant boss he is..How will I work here. Nandu you are gonna be in trouble. But no worries why should I be scared of him when I would be good at my work and an asset to this Bank. I Think its going to be one heck of an experience I need to call Amms and let her know everything.
Thinking this she called up Amms took her blessings and headed towards Manik's cabin. She saw a beautiful girl talking to Manik. She thought that must be Alya . She fished her paper work and left Manik's cabin.
Manik had the most devilish smirk once he saw Nandini signing all the papers. "Its going to be real fun Miss. Murthy. Welcome to my world!"
Maddy was working as a normal employee just to make sure he gets to be close to all the employees and that would help in great bonding and good results, hardly any of them knew Maddy was Manik's brother and was co-owning the bank. Maddy was cool dude types flirting with every other girl. But he was not harmful, in fact girls enjoyed his tantrums and they were more than happy to be around him.
Manik on other hand was extremely serious, not even giving a friendly glance to any of the female employees. Everyone were really scared of him and he was already tagged as Arrogant and serious Boss.
She was really happy she had enjoyed the interview thoroughly and had thought finally
"I got that KICK to accept the offer, not bad but boss looks really strict I got to be more careful. And he looked devilishly handsome. Arghh!! what am I thinking, for gods sake he is my boss. I need to focus on my job, after all they are paying me so well. Five figured salary was my dream and I have got it in my first offer yayy, yay, yay!!!!!" she started dancing happily. They all celebrated her success by visiting a temple and then a South Indian restaurant with lots of great food and ice cream. Nandini felt like her life is falling in place, some clarity she got. All she had to do was, give her best and work hard. Thought of her handsome boss did cross her mind.
