War: Legend of the Planetfall

In this world, death comes from every direction. The denizens were born weak but the Gods didn't turn a blind eye and gave them gifts to survive. Races rose up to kill their way to survival. They gave them magic!

Everyone is born with magic, some races are more inclined to magic than the rest. Some can now strengthen their bodies and equipment while others can conjure the natural elements with a flick of a finger. They are a group of people called the Chosen Ones, born with rare - one in ten thousand unique skills. These groups of people help to shape the course of history and of society today.

Legend entails that there are some who are born with a very unique to an individual and the rarest skill - one in a billion, people who are destined to stand at the peak of the world, born with the power of the Gods!

The year 1596 of the Verlindian Calendar.

It was a hot summer afternoon in the Northmont Kingdom, the capital kingdom of the High Alterac Empire. The empire is one of the strongest powers of the Arathor Continent as its territory spanned for millions of miles. The empire controlled various territories, duchies, and kingdoms.

Located at the westernmost part of the continent, the kingdom is built on a valley and by the sea. Because of its perfect location, it became the very heart and soul of the empire. Lauded for its natural barriers against invaders, strategic trading routes and its closeness to natural resources.

At the center of the kingdom is Northmont City. Divided into many districts, the nobles and the rich separated themselves to the poor and loud noises. The Northmont City Harbour had also become one of the major seaports and trading hubs of the continent in results by the thousands of ships coming from different empires, kingdoms and countries; to sell their goods at this place to be bought by the billions of citizens of the continent.

At the city gates, two guards roam at the top of the city wall for their daily routine inspection. While still on duty, one of the guards noticed a dust cloud on the horizon.

"Hm? Hey. What's that?"

"What's what?"

"That!"

The guard pointed the cloud of dust at the far distance that was moving at a fast pace.

"Oh. What is 'that'?"

"I don't know. That's why I'm asking you, idiot! Should we warn the Lord Commander?"

"Wait. Hmm. Let me use my scope first."

The other guard brought out his priced scope from his leather satchel to look and examine the unknown situation.

''Hm. It looks like a group of people on their mounts. But from their armors and gears, I reckon that they're from a top tier guild. They must be coming back from finishing a quest.''

''Can you identify them?''

''Well. Hmm. Oh?!''

Noticing that his companion was somewhat stunned, the guard worriedly asked.

''What? What's wrong, Edd?''

''I-It's them!''

''Who's 'them'?''

''T-Them!''

Realizing who the other guard was referring to, the guard was also visibly excited.

''Them?!''

"Yes!"

Both the guards left their posts to climbed up to the bell tower and rang it as loud and as fast as they could.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

After sounding the bell, all of the soldiers near the gates were alarmed. All of them, even those who are in their rest, prepared their weapons and armors, ready for battle.

At a medium-sized room inside the garrison near the gates, Elric Geralt, a noble Chosen One from the House of Geralt, one of the middle powers of the kingdom, promoted by the emperor himself as the Lord Commander. Despite his young age, his intelligence and magnificent skills were top-notched. Thus, he was assigned to lead the soldiers in charge to protect the city gates.

''An attack?!''

Like a gust of wind, he rushed out from his office in his fastest speed and went straight towards the bell tower. When he saw the two guards both in smiles while yanking the bell-rope, he became confused.

"What's happening? Why did you sound the alarm?!''

"Lord Commander Elric, it's them. They're back!''

"Who's back?''

Both guards pointed at the group of individuals heading straight towards the city gates. After seeing them with their own eyes, the Lord Commander Elric also became jubilant. The grip on the hilt of his sword was shaking from excitement.

''Men, open the gates!''

The gate guards followed the command of their Lord Commander and pulled down a lever to open the gates.

Clank. Clank. Clank.

"Opening the gates!"

Little by little, the one foot thick and a hundred-meter tall enormous metal gates, prided as being impenetrable and invincible, slowly opened up as these individuals enter the gates of the city.

The people on the other side looked at the commotion happening at the gates. When they saw the group of individuals entered, they immediately recognized them in split seconds.

"Look, everyone. It's them!"

"They're back! They're back!"

"They must have completed that Class SS quest. They really are the strongest guild in the continent, no doubt about it!"

"Hahahaha!"

"Praise the Gods for letting them return safely!"

"Praise the Gods!"

"Praise the Gods!"

Cheers and festivity greeted these individuals. They were clearly loved and cared for by the people. Lots were shouting and drinking happily by the presence of these individuals.

"Clear the way!"

"Make way!"

Even the guards of the kingdom couldn't help but also feel excited by their return. They surrounded these individuals and guarded them against the excited citizens. All the eyes of men and women are on them as they slowly and gracefully walked through the streets. Even the children idolize and look up to them with sparkling eyes.

In front of the group, often called Captain Holt by the people is seen leading the group. With the combination of his stoic built, mild demeanor and handsome appearance, he captures the hearts of each person he encounters with a single wave of the hand and a gentle smile.

"Captain Holt, look here!"

"Captain Holt, you're my hero!"

"When I'm strong enough, I'm going to join your guild!"

"I'm gonna be just like you when I grow up!"

"Hey. No, you're not. I'm gonna be the one who is just like him when I grow up!"

"Are you sure? You can't even lift a shield properly. Haha!"

"Hmmph! I'm gonna lift the shield and swing a sword today!"

"Liar. How about we try now?"

"Sure! Let's go."

A simple looking man, who stays a little far back from the group. He wears a shabby looking outfit, awkward walking posture, messy ash-grey hair, and sleepy eyes. If one were to look closely at his face, can one ever notice of his true charm in his deep azure eyes?

A female magician with a sultry looking beauty clad in revealing fiery-red revealing robe with black lace gear looked back at this man with a smile. Even her large magician hat can't contain her beautiful face. A combination that makes every man drool of lust whenever they see her.

"Hey. Walk faster, will you? If you walk like that, no one is going to know that you're the true genius behind our group. At this rate, everyone will think that Captian Holt is our guild master, right?"

"I don't care. He can have it anytime he wants. *Yawn* I'm sleepy. I can't wait to sleep for the next two days."

The beautiful magician can only sigh in hopelessness in his lazy but expected reply.

"You're hopeless. How did I follow with this kind of guy? Many wanted to marry me but sadly, you're the only one who captured me truly. Am I truly destined to live a miserable life?"

"Hehe."

In every corner of the continent knows them. The strongest guild of this generation. A group of individuals that carry the empire's pride at their back. They are 'The Light of Dawn'!
